1	예루살렘 교회를 위한 모금의 끝마무리를 부탁하다 형제자매 여러분, 우리는 마케도니아의 교회들에서 하나님이 베풀어 주신 은혜를 여러분에게 알려 드립니다.	Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;
2	그들은 큰 어려움을 겪는 혹독한 시련 속에서도 기쁨에 넘쳤으며, 극심한 가난에 쪼들리면서도 남에게 베푸는 데는 넘치도록 부유했습니다.	How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.
3	내가 증언합니다. 그들은 능력껏 할 뿐 아니라, 능력에 버겁도록 했습니다. 그것도 자발적으로요.	For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;
4	그들은 성도들을 섬겨 돕는 일에 참여할 은혜를 달라고 우리에게 간청하며 매달렸습니다.	Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints.
5	우리가 기대했던 것 이상이었습니다. 그들은 자신들을 먼저 주님께 바쳤고, 하나님의 뜻을 따라서 우리에게도 바쳤습니다.	And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
6	그래서 우리가 디도에게 권유하여, 그가 이미 시작한 대로 이 은혜로운 일도 여러분 가운데서 끝마무리하라고 했습니다.	Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.
7	여러분은 모든 면에서 흘러넘칩니다. 곧 믿음과 말재주와 지식과 모든 열심과 또 여러분에 대한 우리의 사랑에 있어서 그러합니다. 그처럼 헌금하는 이 은혜로운 일에서도 흘러넘치도록 하십시오.	Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
8	나는 명령으로 이 말을 하는 것이 아닙니다. 다른 사람들의 열심을 알려 줌으로써, 여러분의 사랑도 진심인지 확인해 보려는 것입니다.	I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
9	여러분은 우리 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜를 알고 있으니까요. 예수님은 부유하신 분이면서도 여러분을 위하여 가난해지셨습니다. 그것은 바로 여러분이 그분의 가난함 덕분에 부유해지도록 하시기 위해서였습니다.	For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
10	이 일에 대해 내가 하나의 의견을 제시합니다. 이렇게 하는 것이 여러분에게 유익할 테니까요. 여러분은 지난해부터 이 일을 앞서 시작했는데, 그것도 여러분이 자원해서 그렇게 했습니다.	And herein I give my advice: for this is expedient for you, who have begun before, not only to do, but also to be forward a year ago.
11	그러므로 이제는 이 일의 끝마무리도 하십시오. 이 일을 자원해서 하고자 열의를 보였던 것처럼, 여러분이 가진 것으로 이 일을 끝마무리하는 것도 그렇게 하세요.	Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.
12	하고자 하는 열의가 있으면, 그가 가진 것에 따라 기꺼이 바치는 것을 하나님이 받아 주시기 때문입니다. 갖지 않은 것을 바치라는 게 아닙니다.	For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
13	다른 사람들의 고통은 덜어 주고 여러분에게는 큰 어려움을 더하려는 것이 아닙니다. 균형을 이루게 하려는 것입니다.	For I mean not that other men be eased, and ye burdened:
14	지금 이때에 여러분에게 넘쳐 나는 것이 저들에게 모자라는 것을 채워 주고, 나중에는 저들에게 넘쳐 나는 것이 여러분에게 모자라는 것을 채워 주게 하십시오. 그리하여 균형을 이루게 하십시오.	But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
15	성경에 적혀 있는 대로입니다. “많이 거두어들인 사람에게도 남아도는 것이 없었고, 적게 거두어들인 사람에게도 모자라는 것이 없었다.”	As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.
16	디도와 함께 두 형제를 보내다 감사를 하나님께 드립니다! 곧 디도의 마음속에, 내가 여러분에 대해 가진 것과 똑같은 열심을 주신 하나님께!	But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.
17	디도가 권유를 받아들였을 뿐만 아니라, 열심이 아주 대단해서 자발적으로 여러분한테로 가는 것이기 때문입니다.	For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.
18	우리는 디도와 함께 형제 한 명을 보냈습니다. 그 형제는 복음을 전하는 일로 모든 교회에서 두루 칭찬을 받는 사람입니다.	And we have sent with him the brother, whose praise is in the gospel throughout all the churches;
19	그뿐만 아니라, 그는 우리의 섬김으로 모인 이 은혜의 헌금을 가지고 갈 우리의 여행 동반자로 교회들이 지명한 사람입니다. 우리가 수행하는 이 일은 바로 주님의 영광을 위한 것이고 우리의 열의를 보여 주기 위한 것입니다.	And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind:
20	우리의 섬김으로 모은 이 거액의 헌금을 두고 어떤 사람이 우리를 책잡지 못하도록 우리는 매우 조심합니다.	Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us:
21	우리의 관심사는 주님 앞에서뿐만 아니라 사람들 앞에서도 흠잡을 데 없이 좋은 일을 해 보이는 것이니까요.	Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.
22	우리는 또 다른 형제를 그 둘과 함께 보냈습니다. 많은 일로 여러 번 검증해 보았는데, 열심 있는 형제입니다. 지금은 여러분에 대한 큰 확신 때문에 열심이 훨씬 더 대단합니다.	And we have sent with them our brother, whom we have oftentimes proved diligent in many things, but now much more diligent, upon the great confidence which I have in you.
23	디도에 대해서 말하자면, 내 동반자요, 여러분을 위해 나와 함께 일하는 사람입니다. 우리 형제들로 말하자면, 교회들이 일을 맡겨 내보낸 심부름꾼들이요, 그리스도의 영광입니다.	Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ.
24	그러므로 여러분의 사랑을 보여 주십시오. 그리하여 여러분에 대해 우리가 그들한테 자랑한 것이 참되다는 것을 교회들 앞에 보여 주십시오.	Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.
