1	우리에게는 이런 약속들이 있으므로, 사랑하는 여러분, 우리는 육과 영의 온갖 더러움으로부터 스스로를 깨끗하게 합시다. 그리하여 하나님을 두려워하는 가운데 거룩함을 온전히 이룹시다.	Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
2	코린트 교인들 마음을 얻으려고 한 번 더 애쓰다 여러분의 마음을 열고 우리를 받아들여 주십시오. 우리는 아무에게도 불의한 일을 하지 않았으며, 아무도 망하게 하지 않았으며, 아무도 이용해 먹지 않았습니다.	Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
3	여러분을 죄 있다고 판결하려고 내가 이 말을 하는 것이 아닙니다. 내가 이미 말했다시피, 여러분이 우리의 마음속에 있으므로, 여러분과 우리는 함께 죽고 함께 사는 관계입니다.	I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.
4	나는 여러분한테 아주 솔직합니다. 나는 여러분을 아주 자랑스러워합니다. 나는 위로를 충분히 받았고, 우리가 겪는 온갖 큰 어려움 가운데서도 나에게는 기쁨이 흘러넘칩니다.	Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.
5	디도가 돌아온 것을 기뻐하다 우리가 마케도니아에 들어갔을 때, 우리 육신은 전혀 쉼을 누리지 못했습니다. 모든 면에서 시달렸습니다. 밖으로는 싸움이 있었으며, 안으로는 두려움이 있었습니다.	For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears.
6	그러나 풀 죽은 사람들을 위로하시는 분, 곧 하나님이 우리를 위로해 주셨습니다. 디도를 돌아오게 하심으로써요.	Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
7	디도가 돌아온 일로만이 아니라 여러분에게서 디도가 받은 위로로도 위로해 주셨습니다. 디도가 여러분의 간절함, 여러분의 애통, 나에 대한 여러분의 열정을 우리에게 전해 주었을 때, 나는 더욱 기뻐하게 되었습니다.	And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.
8	코린트 교인들이 회개한 것을 기뻐하다 내가 그 편지로 여러분을 슬프게 했더라도 후회하지는 않습니다. 내가 후회했다면, 그것은 잠깐 동안이지만 바로 그 편지가 여러분을 슬프게 한 것을 보기 때문입니다.	For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season.
9	그러나 이제는 기뻐합니다. 여러분이 슬픔을 당했기 때문이 아니라, 슬픔을 당한 결과 여러분이 회개에 이르게 되었기 때문입니다. 여러분이 슬픔을 당한 것은 하나님의 뜻에 따른 것이니, 여러분이 우리한테서 손해를 입은 것은 아무것도 없는 셈이지요.	Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.
10	하나님 뜻에 따른 슬픔은 회개를 일으켜 구원에 이르게 하므로 후회할 것 없는 일이니 말입니다. 그러나 세상적 슬픔은 죽음을 불러일으킬 뿐입니다.	For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
11	보십시오, 하나님 뜻에 따라 슬픔을 당하는 것, 바로 이것이 여러분에게 불러일으킨 열심이 어떠했는지요! 또 그 변호, 그 분노, 그 두려움, 그 간절함, 그 열정, 그 처벌은 어떠했는지요! 어느 모로 보든지 이 문제에서 여러분은 잘못이 없음을 입증했습니다.	For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.
12	그러므로 내가 여러분에게 편지를 써 보낸 것은 불의를 저지른 사람 때문도 아니고 불의를 당한 사람 때문도 아니었습니다. 오히려 우리를 위한 여러분의 열심이 하나님 앞에서 여러분한테 분명히 드러나도록 하기 위해서였습니다.	Wherefore, though I wrote unto you, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear unto you.
13	이 때문에 우리는 이미 위로를 받았습니다. 우리가 받은 위로에 더하여, 우리는 디도가 기뻐한 것 때문에 더더욱 기뻐했습니다. 여러분 모두가 디도의 영을 편안히 쉬게 해 주었기 때문입니다.	Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
14	다툼이 해결된 것을 기뻐하다 또 여러분에 대해서 내가 디도에게 자랑을 좀 한 일이 있었는데, 내가 전혀 창피를 당하지 않게 되었기 때문입니다. 도리어 우리가 여러분에게 모든 것을 진실하게 말했던 것처럼, 디도 앞에서 한 우리의 자랑도 진실한 것으로 밝혀졌습니다.	For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.
15	디도의 마음이 여러분에게는 더욱 특별합니다. 디도가 여러분 모두의 순종을 기억하고 있기 때문입니다. 여러분은 두려움과 떨림으로 그를 맞아 주었지요.	And his inward affection is more abundant toward you, whilst he remembereth the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
16	모든 면에서 여러분을 확실히 믿을 수 있게 된 것을 나는 기뻐합니다.	I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
