1	바울이 코린트에 처음 도착했을 때 일을 말하다 나 자신도 여러분한테 갔을 때, 형제자매 여러분, 가서 하나님의 비밀을 여러분에게 널리 알리면서 말이나 지혜의 뛰어남을 끌어대지 않았습니다.	And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
2	여러분 가운데 있으면서 나는 그 무엇도 알지 않기로 마음을 정했기 때문입니다. 예수 그리스도, 곧 십자가에 매달리신 이분 말고는요.	For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
3	나 자신도 여러분 곁에 있을 때 약함과 두려움과 많은 떨림에 사로잡혀 있었습니다.	And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.
4	내 말과 내 선포는 지혜의 설득력 있는 말로 한 것이 아니라 성령님의 능력을 보여 줌으로 한 것이었습니다.	And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
5	여러분의 믿음이 사람의 지혜가 아니라 하나님의 능력에 토대를 두게 하려는 것이었지요.	That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
6	성령님을 통해 계시된 하나님의 지혜 그렇지만 우리도 지혜를 말합니다. 다만 성숙한 사람들 가운데서요. 그런데 이 지혜는 이 세대의 것도 아니고 이 세대의 지배자들의 것도 아닙니다. 그들은 사라질 사람들입니다.	Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:
7	오히려 우리는 하나님의 지혜, 곧 비밀 속에 감추어져 있는 지혜를 말합니다. 이 지혜는 하나님이 아주 오래전에 우리의 영광을 위해서 미리 정해 두신 것입니다.	But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8	이 지혜를 이 세대의 지배자들 가운데서는 아무도 알지 못했습니다. 그들이 알았더라면 영광의 주님을 십자가에 매달지 않았을 것입니다.	Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9	그러나 성경에 이렇게 적혀 있는 대로입니다. “눈이 보지 못하고 귀가 듣지 못한 것들, 또 사람의 마음에 떠오른 적 없는 것들, 그것들을 하나님이 자기를 사랑하는 사람들을 위해서 마련해 두셨다.”	But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10	우리에게는 그것들을 하나님이 성령님을 통해서 계시해 주셨습니다. 성령님은 모든 것을 살펴보시는데, 하나님의 깊은 생각들도 살펴보시기 때문입니다.	But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11	사람들 가운데 누가 사람의 생각을 알고 있습니까? 오직 그 사람 안에 있는 그 사람의 영뿐입니다. 마찬가지로 하나님의 생각도 하나님의 영 말고는 아는 사람이 아무도 없습니다.	For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12	우리는, 세상의 영이 아니라 하나님께로부터 오는 영을 받았습니다. 하나님이 우리에게 은혜로 주신 선물들을 우리가 알 수 있도록 말입니다.	Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13	우리도 그 선물들을 말할 때 인간적인 지혜가 가르쳐 준 말로 하지 않고, 성령님이 가르쳐 주신 말씀으로 합니다. 영적인 사람들에게 영적인 일들을 설명하면서요.	Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14	믿지 않는 사람은 하나님의 영의 일들을 받아들이지 않습니다. 그가 보기에는 그것들이 허무맹랑한 일이고, 그것들을 알 수도 없어서입니다. 그것들은 영적으로 판단되기 때문입니다.	But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
15	영적인 사람은 모든 것을 판단합니다. 그러나 바로 그 사람은 아무에게도 판단받지 않습니다.	But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
16	“누가 주님의 생각을 알았습니까? 그분을 가르쳐 드리겠습니까?” 그러나 우리야말로 그리스도의 생각을 품고 있습니다.	For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
