| 2 | Ils m'ont souvent tourmenté dès ma jeunesse ; toutefois ils n'ont point encore été plus forts que moi. | Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. |
| 3 | Des laboureurs ont labouré sur mon dos, ils y ont tiré tout au long leurs sillons. | The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. |
| 4 | L'Eternel est juste ; il a coupé les cordes des méchants. | The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. |
| 5 | Tous ceux qui ont Sion en haine, rougiront de honte, et seront repoussés en arrière. | Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. |
| 6 | Ils seront comme l'herbe des toits, qui est sèche avant qu'elle monte en tuyau ; | Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: |
