ἀποθανὼν δίκαιος ἔλιπεν μετάμελον πρόχειρος δὲ γίνεται καὶ ἐπίχαρτος ἀσεβῶν ἀπώλεια | The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
— | Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.
δικαιοσύνη ἀμώμους ὀρθοτομεῖ ὁδούς ἀσέβεια δὲ περιπίπτει ἀδικίᾳ | The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
δικαιοσύνη ἀνδρῶν ὀρθῶν ῥύεται αὐτούς τῇ δὲ ἀπωλείᾳ αὐτῶν ἁλίσκονται παράνομοι | The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
τελευτήσαντος ἀνδρὸς δικαίου οὐκ ὄλλυται ἐλπίς τὸ δὲ καύχημα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ὄλλυται | When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
δίκαιος ἐκ θήρας ἐκδύνει ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ δὲ παραδίδοται ὁ ἀσεβής | The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
ἐν στόματι ἀσεβῶν παγὶς πολίταις αἴσθησις δὲ δικαίων εὔοδος | An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.
ἐν ἀγαθοῖς δικαίων κατώρθωσεν πόλις | When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
στόμασιν δὲ ἀσεβῶν κατεσκάφη | By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
μυκτηρίζει πολίτας ἐνδεὴς φρενῶν ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος ἡσυχίαν ἄγει | He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.
ἀνὴρ δίγλωσσος ἀποκαλύπτει βουλὰς ἐν συνεδρίῳ πιστὸς δὲ πνοῇ κρύπτει πράγματα | A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.
οἷς μὴ ὑπάρχει κυβέρνησις πίπτουσιν ὥσπερ φύλλα σωτηρία δὲ ὑπάρχει ἐν πολλῇ βουλῇ | Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.
πονηρὸς κακοποιεῖ ὅταν συμμείξῃ δικαίῳ μισεῖ δὲ ἦχον ἀσφαλείας | He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ ἀγαθὸν ποιεῖ ἀνὴρ ἐλεήμων ἐξολλύει δὲ αὐτοῦ σῶμα ὁ ἀνελεήμων | The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
ἀσεβὴς ποιεῖ ἔργα ἄδικα σπέρμα δὲ δικαίων μισθὸς ἀληθείας | The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
υἱὸς δίκαιος γεννᾶται εἰς ζωήν διωγμὸς δὲ ἀσεβοῦς εἰς θάνατον | As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ διεστραμμέναι ὁδοί προσδεκτοὶ δὲ αὐτῷ πάντες ἄμωμοι ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν | They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.
χειρὶ χεῖρας ἐμβαλὼν ἀδίκως οὐκ ἀτιμώρητος ἔσται ὁ δὲ σπείρων δικαιοσύνην λήμψεται μισθὸν πιστόν | Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
ὥσπερ ἐνώτιον ἐν ῥινὶ ὑός οὕτως γυναικὶ κακόφρονι κάλλος | As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

εἰσὶν οἳ τὰ ἴδια σπείροντες πλείονα ποιοῦσιν εἰσὶν καὶ οἳ συνάγοντες ἐλαττονοῦνται | There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.
ψυχὴ εὐλογουμένη πᾶσα ἁπλῆ ἀνὴρ δὲ θυμώδης οὐκ εὐσχήμων | The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
ὁ συνέχων σῖτον ὑπολίποιτο αὐτὸν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐλογία δὲ εἰς κεφαλὴν τοῦ μεταδιδόντος | He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
τεκταινόμενος ἀγαθὰ ζητεῖ χάριν ἀγαθήν ἐκζητοῦντα δὲ κακά καταλήμψεται αὐτόν | He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
ὁ πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ πλούτῳ οὗτος πεσεῖται ὁ δὲ ἀντιλαμβανόμενος δικαίων οὗτος ἀνατελεῖ | He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
ὁ μὴ συμπεριφερόμενος τῷ ἑαυτοῦ οἴκῳ κληρονομήσει ἄνεμον δουλεύσει δὲ ἄφρων φρονίμῳ | He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
ἐκ καρποῦ δικαιοσύνης φύεται δένδρον ζωῆς ἀφαιροῦνται δὲ ἄωροι ψυχαὶ παρανόμων | The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
εἰ ὁ μὲν δίκαιος μόλις σῴζεται ὁ ἀσεβὴς καὶ ἁμαρτωλὸς ποῦ φανεῖται | Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
