|---|---|---|
ὑπολαβὼν δὲ Ελιους λέγει | Elihu spake moreover, and said,
τί τοῦτο ἡγήσω ἐν κρίσει σὺ τίς εἶ ὅτι εἶπας δίκαιός εἰμι ἔναντι κυρίου | Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God’s?
ἢ ἐρεῖς τί ποιήσω ἁμαρτών | For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
ἐγὼ σοὶ δώσω ἀπόκρισιν καὶ τοῖς τρισὶν φίλοις σου | I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
ἀνάβλεψον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἰδέ κατάμαθε δὲ νέφη ὡς ὑψηλὰ ἀπὸ σοῦ | Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
εἰ ἥμαρτες τί πράξεις εἰ δὲ καὶ πολλὰ ἠνόμησας τί δύνασαι ποιῆσαι | If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
ἐπεὶ δὲ οὖν δίκαιος εἶ τί δώσεις αὐτῷ ἢ τί ἐκ χειρός σου λήμψεται | If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
ἀνδρὶ τῷ ὁμοίῳ σου ἡ ἀσέβειά σου καὶ υἱῷ ἀνθρώπου ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου | Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
ἀπὸ πλήθους συκοφαντούμενοι κεκράξονται βοήσονται ἀπὸ βραχίονος πολλῶν | By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
καὶ οὐκ εἶπεν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὸς ὁ ποιήσας με ὁ κατατάσσων φυλακὰς νυκτερινάς | But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
ὁ διορίζων με ἀπὸ τετραπόδων γῆς ἀπὸ δὲ πετεινῶν οὐρανοῦ | Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
ἐκεῖ κεκράξονται καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσακούσῃ καὶ ἀπὸ ὕβρεως πονηρῶν | There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
ἄτοπα γὰρ οὐ βούλεται ὁ κύριος ἰδεῖν αὐτὸς γὰρ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁρατής ἐστιν | Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
τῶν συντελούντων τὰ ἄνομα καὶ σώσει με κρίθητι δὲ ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ εἰ δύνασαι αἰνέσαι αὐτόν ὡς ἔστιν | Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
καὶ νῦν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἐπισκεπτόμενος ὀργὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἔγνω παραπτώματι σφόδρα | But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
καὶ Ιωβ ματαίως ἀνοίγει τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ ἐν ἀγνωσίᾳ ῥήματα βαρύνει | Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
