αλληλουια ἐξομολογεῖσθε τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ ἐπικαλεῖσθε τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ἀπαγγείλατε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ | Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
ᾄσατε αὐτῷ καὶ ψάλατε αὐτῷ διηγήσασθε πάντα τὰ θαυμάσια αὐτοῦ | Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
ἐπαινεῖσθε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ εὐφρανθήτω καρδία ζητούντων τὸν κύριον | Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
ζητήσατε τὸν κύριον καὶ κραταιώθητε ζητήσατε τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ διὰ παντός | Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
μνήσθητε τῶν θαυμασίων αὐτοῦ ὧν ἐποίησεν τὰ τέρατα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰ κρίματα τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ | Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
σπέρμα Αβρααμ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ υἱοὶ Ιακωβ ἐκλεκτοὶ αὐτοῦ | Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
αὐτὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ | At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
ἐμνήσθη εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα διαθήκης αὐτοῦ λόγου οὗ ἐνετείλατο εἰς χιλίας γενεάς | They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
ὃν διέθετο τῷ Αβρααμ καὶ τοῦ ὅρκου αὐτοῦ τῷ Ισαακ | Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτὴν τῷ Ιακωβ εἰς πρόσταγμα καὶ τῷ Ισραηλ διαθήκην αἰώνιον | He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
λέγων σοὶ δώσω τὴν γῆν Χανααν σχοίνισμα κληρονομίας ὑμῶν | They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτοὺς ἀριθμῷ βραχεῖς ὀλιγοστοὺς καὶ παροίκους ἐν αὐτῇ | By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
καὶ διῆλθον ἐξ ἔθνους εἰς ἔθνος ἐκ βασιλείας εἰς λαὸν ἕτερον | He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
οὐκ ἀφῆκεν ἄνθρωπον ἀδικῆσαι αὐτοὺς καὶ ἤλεγξεν ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν βασιλεῖς | He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
μὴ ἅπτεσθε τῶν χριστῶν μου καὶ ἐν τοῖς προφήταις μου μὴ πονηρεύεσθε | And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.
καὶ ἐκάλεσεν λιμὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν πᾶν στήριγμα ἄρτου συνέτριψεν | The trees of the Lord are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
ἀπέστειλεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτῶν ἄνθρωπον εἰς δοῦλον ἐπράθη Ιωσηφ | Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
ἐταπείνωσαν ἐν πέδαις τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ σίδηρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ | The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
μέχρι τοῦ ἐλθεῖν τὸν λόγον αὐτοῦ τὸ λόγιον κυρίου ἐπύρωσεν αὐτόν | He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
ἀπέστειλεν βασιλεὺς καὶ ἔλυσεν αὐτόν ἄρχων λαῶν καὶ ἀφῆκεν αὐτόν | Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
κατέστησεν αὐτὸν κύριον τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄρχοντα πάσης τῆς κτήσεως αὐτοῦ | The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
τοῦ παιδεῦσαι τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτοῦ ὡς ἑαυτὸν καὶ τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους αὐτοῦ σοφίσαι | The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Ισραηλ εἰς Αἴγυπτον καὶ Ιακωβ παρῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χαμ | Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
καὶ ηὔξησεν τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ σφόδρα καὶ ἐκραταίωσεν αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτοῦ | O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
μετέστρεψεν τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν τοῦ μισῆσαι τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ τοῦ δολιοῦσθαι ἐν τοῖς δούλοις αὐτοῦ | So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
ἐξαπέστειλεν Μωυσῆν τὸν δοῦλον αὐτοῦ Ααρων ὃν ἐξελέξατο αὐτόν | There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
ἔθετο ἐν αὐτοῖς τοὺς λόγους τῶν σημείων αὐτοῦ καὶ τῶν τεράτων ἐν γῇ Χαμ | These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
ἐξαπέστειλεν σκότος καὶ ἐσκότασεν καὶ παρεπίκραναν τοὺς λόγους αὐτοῦ | That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
μετέστρεψεν τὰ ὕδατα αὐτῶν εἰς αἷμα καὶ ἀπέκτεινεν τοὺς ἰχθύας αὐτῶν | Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
ἐξῆρψεν ἡ γῆ αὐτῶν βατράχους ἐν τοῖς ταμιείοις τῶν βασιλέων αὐτῶν | Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
εἶπεν καὶ ἦλθεν κυνόμυια καὶ σκνῖπες ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς ὁρίοις αὐτῶν | The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.
ἔθετο τὰς βροχὰς αὐτῶν χάλαζαν πῦρ καταφλέγον ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν | He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὰς ἀμπέλους αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς συκᾶς αὐτῶν καὶ συνέτριψεν πᾶν ξύλον ὁρίου αὐτῶν | I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
εἶπεν καὶ ἦλθεν ἀκρὶς καὶ βροῦχος οὗ οὐκ ἦν ἀριθμός | My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.
καὶ κατέφαγεν πάντα τὸν χόρτον ἐν τῇ γῇ αὐτῶν καὶ κατέφαγεν τὸν καρπὸν τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν | Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Praise ye the Lord.
