| 1 | Ein Psalm Assaphs von den Spanrosen, vorzusingen. | Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth. |
| 2 | Du Hirte Israels, höre, der du Joseph hütest wie der Schafe; erscheine, der du sitzest über Cherubim! | Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us. |
| 3 | Erwecke deine Gewalt, der du vor Ephraim, Benjamin und Manasse bist, und komm uns zu Hilfe! | Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. |
| 4 | GOtt, tröste uns und laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir. | O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? |
| 5 | HErr, GOtt Zebaoth, wie lange willst du zürnen über dem Gebet deines Volks? | Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure. |
| 6 | Du speisest sie mit Tränenbrot und tränkest sie mit großem Maß voll Tränen. | Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves. |
| 7 | Du setzest uns unsern Nachbarn zum Zank, und unsere Feinde spotten unser. | Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. |
| 8 | GOtt Zebaoth, tröste uns! Laß leuchten dein Antlitz, so genesen wir. | Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it. |
| 9 | Du hast einen Weinstock aus Ägypten geholet und hast vertrieben die Heiden und denselben gepflanzet. | Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land. |
| 10 | Du hast vor ihm die Bahn gemacht und hast ihn lassen einwurzeln, daß er das Land erfüllet hat. | The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars. |
| 11 | Berge sind mit seinem Schatten bedeckt und mit seinen Reben die Zedern GOttes. | She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river. |
| 12 | Du hast sein Gewächs ausgebreitet bis ans Meer und seine Zweige bis ans Wasser. | Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her? |
| 13 | Warum hast du denn seinen Zaun zerbrochen, daß ihn zerreißet alles, das vorübergehet? | The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it. |
| 14 | Es haben ihn zerwühlet die wilden Säue, und die wilden Tiere haben ihn verderbet. | Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; |
| 15 | GOtt Zebaoth, wende dich doch, schaue vom Himmel und siehe an und suche heim diesen Weinstock | And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself. |
| 16 | und halt ihn im Bau, den deine Rechte gepflanzet hat, und den du dir festiglich erwählet hast. | It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance. |
| 17 | Siehe drein und schilt, daß des Brennens und Reißens ein Ende werde! | Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself. |
| 18 | Deine Hand schütze das Volk deiner Rechten und die Leute, die du dir festiglich erwählet hast, | So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. |
