1	Jerusalem und seine Einwohner Und ganz Israel war aufgezeichnet, und siehe, sie sind aufgeschrieben im Buch der Könige Israels. Und Juda wurde weggeführt nach Babel um seines Treubruchs willen.	So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, who were carried away to Babylon for their transgression.
2	Und die zuerst auf ihrem Besitz und in ihren Städten wohnten, waren Israeliten, Priester, Leviten und Tempeldiener.	Now the first inhabitants that dwelt in their possessions in their cities were, the Israelites, the priests, Levites, and the Nethinims.
3	Und in Jerusalem wohnten einige der Söhne Juda, einige der Söhne Benjamin, einige der Söhne Ephraim und Manasse:	And in Jerusalem dwelt of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim, and Manasseh;
4	Utai, der Sohn Ammihuds, des Sohnes Omris, des Sohnes Imris, des Sohnes Banis von den Nachkommen des Perez, des Sohnes Judas;	Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Pharez the son of Judah.
5	von den Schelanitern aber Asaja, der Erstgeborene, und seine Söhne;	And of the Shilonites; Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
6	von den Söhnen Serach: Jëuël und seine Brüder, 690.	And of the sons of Zerah; Jeuel, and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
7	Von den Söhnen Benjamin: Sallu, der Sohn Meschullams, des Sohnes Hodawjas, des Sohnes Senuas,	And of the sons of Benjamin; Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hasenuah,
8	und Jibneja, der Sohn Jerohams, und Ela, der Sohn Usis, des Sohnes Michris, und Meschullam, der Sohn Schefatjas, des Sohnes Reguëls, des Sohnes Jibnijas.	And Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephathiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9	Dazu ihre Brüder nach ihren Geschlechtern, 956. Alle diese Männer waren Häupter ihrer Sippen.	And their brethren, according to their generations, nine hundred and fifty and six. All these men were chief of the fathers in the house of their fathers.

11	und Asarja, der Sohn Hilkijas, des Sohnes Meschullams, des Sohnes Zadoks, des Sohnes Merajots, des Sohnes Ahitubs, der Vorsteher im Hause Gottes,	And Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God;
12	und Adaja, der Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Paschhurs, des Sohnes Malkijas, und Masai, der Sohn Adiëls, des Sohnes Jachseras, des Sohnes Meschullams, des Sohnes Meschillemots, des Sohnes Immers,	And Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasiai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13	dazu ihre Brüder, Häupter ihrer Sippen, 1760, tüchtige Leute im Dienst des Amtes im Hause Gottes.	And their brethren, heads of the house of their fathers, a thousand and seven hundred and threescore; very able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14	Von den Leviten aber aus den Söhnen Merari: Schemaja, der Sohn Haschubs, des Sohnes Asrikams, des Sohnes Haschabjas,	And of the Levites; Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
15	und Bakbakkar, Heresch und Galal und Mattanja, der Sohn Michas, des Sohnes Sichris, des Sohnes Asafs,	And Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Micah, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16	und Abda, der Sohn Schammuas, des Sohnes Galals, des Sohnes Jedutuns, und Berechja, der Sohn Asas, des Sohnes Elkanas, der in den Gehöften der Netofatiter wohnte.	And Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, that dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
17	Die Torhüter aber waren: Schallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman; und ihr Bruder Schallum war der Oberste,	And the porters were, Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brethren: Shallum was the chief;
18	und bis heute stehen sie am Tor des Königs im Osten. Das waren die Torhüter in den Lagern der Söhne Levi.	Who hitherto waited in the king’s gate eastward: they were porters in the companies of the children of Levi.
19	Und Schallum, der Sohn Kores, des Sohnes Abiasafs, des Sohnes Korachs, und seine Brüder aus seiner Sippe, die Korachiter, waren im Dienst des Amtes, dass sie hüteten die Schwelle der Stiftshütte, wie auch ihre Väter im Lager des Herrn den Eingang gehütet hatten.	And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle: and their fathers, being over the host of the Lord, were keepers of the entry.
20	Pinhas aber, der Sohn Eleasars, – der Herr sei mit ihm! – war vorzeiten über sie gesetzt.	And Phinehas the son of Eleazar was the ruler over them in time past, and the Lord was with him.
21	Secharja aber, der Sohn Meschelemjas, war Hüter am Tor der Stiftshütte.	And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.
22	Alle diese waren auserlesen zu Hütern an der Schwelle, zweihundertzwölf; diese waren zwar aufgezeichnet in ihren Gehöften, aber David und Samuel, der Seher, hatten sie wegen ihrer Treue eingesetzt,	All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office.
23	dass sie und ihre Söhne als Wächter hüten sollten die Tore am Hause des Herrn, nämlich an der Stiftshütte.	So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the Lord, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.
24	Es waren aber diese Torhüter nach den vier Himmelsrichtungen aufgestellt: nach Osten, nach Westen, nach Norden und Süden.	In four quarters were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
25	Ihre Brüder aber waren auf ihren Gehöften und mussten zur verordneten Zeit für jeweils sieben Tage hereinkommen, um mit ihnen Dienst zu tun.	And their brethren, which were in their villages, were to come after seven days from time to time with them.
26	Die vier obersten Torhüter aber waren verlässlich da. Und einige von den Leviten waren über die Kammern und Schätze im Hause Gottes gesetzt.	For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office, and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God.
27	Auch blieben sie die Nacht über um das Haus Gottes, denn sie mussten Wache halten und alle Morgen die Türen auftun.	And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them, and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them.
28	Und einige von ihnen waren gesetzt über die Geräte für den Dienst; denn sie mussten sie abgezählt heraus- und hineintragen.	And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale.
29	Und einige von ihnen waren bestellt über die Gefäße und über alle heiligen Geräte, über das feine Mehl, über Wein, über Öl, über Weihrauch, über Spezerei.	Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels, and all the instruments of the sanctuary, and the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
30	Und einige der Söhne der Priester machten Salböl aus der Spezerei.	And some of the sons of the priests made the ointment of the spices.
31	Und Mattitja von den Leviten, dem Erstgeborenen Schallums, des Korachiters, waren die Pfannen anvertraut.	And Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the set office over the things that were made in the pans.
32	Von den Kehatitern aber, ihren Brüdern, waren einige bestellt über die Schaubrote, sie zuzurichten auf alle Sabbate.	And other of their brethren, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the shewbread, to prepare it every sabbath.
33	Das sind die Sänger, die Häupter der Sippen der Leviten, die in den Kammern keinen Dienst hatten, denn Tag und Nacht waren sie in ihrem Amt.	And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night.
34	Das sind die Häupter der Sippen unter den Leviten nach ihren Geschlechtern. Diese wohnten in Jerusalem. (vgl. Kap )	These chief fathers of the Levites were chief throughout their generations; these dwelt at Jerusalem.
35	Die Sippe Sauls In Gibeon wohnten Jëiël, der Vater Gibeons; seine Frau hieß Maacha	And in Gibeon dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jehiel, whose wife’s name was Maachah:
36	und sein Erstgeborener Abdon; ferner Zur, Kisch, Baal, Ner, Nadab,	And his firstborn son Abdon, then Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,
37	Gedor, Achjo, Secher, Miklot.	And Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38	Miklot aber zeugte Schima. Auch sie wohnten mit ihren Brüdern in Jerusalem, ihnen gegenüber.	And Mikloth begat Shimeam. And they also dwelt with their brethren at Jerusalem, over against their brethren.
39	Ner aber zeugte Abner. Kisch zeugte Saul. Saul zeugte Jonatan, Malkischua, Abinadab, Eschbaal.	And Ner begat Kish; and Kish begat Saul; and Saul begat Jonathan, and Malchi–shua, and Abinadab, and Esh–baal.
40	Der Sohn Jonatans aber war Merib-Baal. Merib-Baal aber zeugte Micha.	And the son of Jonathan was Merib–baal: and Merib–baal begat Micah.
41	Die Söhne Michas waren: Piton, Melech, Tachrea und Ahas.	And the sons of Micah were, Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42	Ahas zeugte Joadda. Joadda zeugte Alemet, Asmawet und Simri. Simri zeugte Moza.	And Ahaz begat Jarah; and Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri begat Moza;
43	Moza zeugte Bina; dessen Sohn war Refaja, dessen Sohn war Elasa, dessen Sohn war Azel.	And Moza begat Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
44	Azel aber hatte sechs Söhne; die hießen: Asrikam, Bochru, Jischmael, Schearja, Obadja, Hanan. Das sind die Söhne Azels.	And Azel had six sons, whose names are these, Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.
