1 또 주께서 욥에게 응답하여 이르시되, Moreover the Lord answered Job, and said,
2 전능자와 다투는 자가 그분을 가르치겠느냐? 하나님을 책망하는 자는 그것에 대답할지니라, 하시니라. Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 ¶그때에 욥이 주께 응답하여 이르되, Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
4 보소서, 나는 비천한 자이오니 내가 주께 무엇을 대답하리이까? 내가 내 손으로 입을 막으리이다. Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 내가 한 번 말하였사오나 응답하지 아니하겠나이다. 참으로 두 번 말하였사오나 더 계속하지 아니하겠나이다, 하더라. Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 ¶그때에 주께서 회오리바람 속에서 욥에게 응답하여 이르시되, Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 이제 너는 남자답게 허리를 동이고 내가 네게 물을 터이니 내게 밝히 고할지니라. Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 네가 또한 내 판단의 공의를 무효로 만들려 하느냐? 네가 너를 의롭게 하려고 나를 정죄하려 하느냐? Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 네가 하나님같이 팔을 가지고 있느냐? 혹은 네가 그와 같이 음성으로 천둥소리를 낼 수 있느냐? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 이제 네 자신을 위엄과 뛰어남으로 꾸미고 영광과 아름다움으로 단장할지니라. Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 너의 격한 분노를 내버리고 교만한 모든 자를 눈여겨보며 그를 낮추되 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 교만한 모든 자를 살펴보고 그를 낮게 만들며 사악한 자들을 그들의 처소에서 짓밟을지니라. Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 그들을 다 같이 흙 속에 감추고 은밀한 가운데 그들의 얼굴을 싸맬지니라. Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 그리하면 나도 네 오른손이 너를 구원할 수 있다고 네게 시인하리라. Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 ¶이제 내가 너를 만들 때에 함께 만든 베헤못을 보라. 그가 소처럼 풀을 먹느니라. Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 이제 보라, 그의 기력은 그의 허리에 있고 그의 힘은 그의 배의 배꼽에 있느니라. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 그가 자기 꼬리를 백향목같이 움직이며 그의 고환의 힘줄은 서로 얽혀 있고 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 그의 뼈들은 강한 놋 덩이 같으며 그의 뼈들은 쇠막대기 같으니라. His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 그는 하나님의 길들 중에서 으뜸이거니와 그를 만든 이가 자신의 칼을 그에게 가까이 댈 수 있느니라. He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 들의 모든 짐승이 노는 산들은 확실히 그를 위하여 먹이를 내느니라. Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 그가 그늘진 나무 아래와 갈대밭의 숨는 곳과 늪 속에 누워 있나니 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 그늘진 나무들은 자기들의 그늘로 그를 덮고 시내의 버드나무들도 그를 감싸는도다. The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 보라, 그가 강을 마시되 서두르지 아니하나니 그는 자기가 요르단을 자기 입으로 빨아들일 수 있다고 믿느니라. Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 그가 자기 눈으로 그것을 취하며 그의 코는 올가미들을 꿰뚫는도다. He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
