| 1 | 유다 왕 요시야의 아들 여호야김이 통치하기 시작할 때에 주로부터 이 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하여 이르시니라. | In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, |
| 2 | 주께서 이같이 내게 말씀하시기를, 너는 줄과 멍에를 만들어 네 목에 걸고 | Thus saith the Lord to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck, |
| 3 | 유다 왕 시드기야를 보려고 예루살렘에 오는 사자들의 손으로 그것들을 에돔 왕과 모압 왕과 암몬 족속의 왕과 두로 왕과 시돈 왕에게 보내며 | And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah; |
| 4 | 그들에게 명령하여 그들의 주군들에게 말하게 하기를, 만군의 주 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 너희는 너희 주군들에게 이같이 말할지니라. | And command them to say unto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Thus shall ye say unto your masters; |
| 5 | 나는 나의 큰 권능과 나의 넓게 뻗은 팔로 땅과 지면에 있는 사람과 짐승을 만들고 나 보기에 합당한 자에게 그것을 주었노라. | I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are upon the ground, by my great power and by my outstretched arm, and have given it unto whom it seemed meet unto me. |
| 6 | 이제 내가 이 모든 땅을 내 종 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살의 손에 내주었고 또 들의 짐승들도 그에게 주어 그를 섬기게 하였느니라. | And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him. |
| 7 | 그러므로 모든 민족들이 그와 그의 아들과 그의 아들의 아들을 섬기되 마침내 그의 땅의 때가 이를 때까지 섬기리라. 그 뒤에 많은 민족들과 위대한 왕들이 그로 하여금 자기들을 섬기게 하리라. | And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son’s son, until the very time of his land come: and then many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of him. |
| 8 | 주가 말하노라. 바로 그 바빌론 왕 곧 느부갓네살을 섬기려 하지 아니하는 민족과 왕국 즉 자기 목을 바빌론 왕의 멍에 아래에 두려 하지 아니하는 그 민족을 내가 칼과 기근과 역병으로 벌하되 마침내 내가 그의 손으로 그들을 소멸시킬 때까지 벌하리라. | And it shall come to pass, that the nation and kingdom which will not serve the same Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, and that will not put their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, that nation will I punish, saith the Lord, with the sword, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, until I have consumed them by his hand. |
| 9 | 그러므로 너희에게 말하여 이르기를, 너희가 바빌론 왕을 섬기지 아니하리라, 하는 너희의 대언자들이나 점쟁이들이나 꿈꾸는 자들이나 마술사들이나 마법사들의 말에 너희는 귀를 기울이지 말라. | Therefore hearken not ye to your prophets, nor to your diviners, nor to your dreamers, nor to your enchanters, nor to your sorcerers, which speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: |
| 10 | 너희를 너희 땅에서부터 멀리 옮기기 위하여 그들이 너희에게 거짓을 대언하나니 이것은 내가 너희를 몰아내어 너희를 망하게 하려 함이라. | For they prophesy a lie unto you, to remove you far from your land; and that I should drive you out, and ye should perish. |
| 11 | 그러나 자기 목을 바빌론 왕의 멍에 아래에 두고 그를 섬기는 민족들 곧 그들은 내가 조용히 그들의 땅에 남게 하리니 그들이 그 땅을 갈고 그 안에 거하리라. 주가 말하노라, 하라. | But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the Lord; and they shall till it, and dwell therein. |
| 12 | ¶내가 또 이 모든 말씀대로 유다 왕 시드기야에게 말하여 이르되, 당신들의 목을 바빌론 왕의 멍에 아래에 두고 그와 그의 백성을 섬기소서. 그리하면 살리이다. | I spake also to Zedekiah king of Judah according to all these words, saying, Bring your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and live. |
| 13 | 어찌하여 당신들 곧 왕과 왕의 백성이 주께서 바빌론 왕을 섬기려 하지 아니하는 민족에게 말씀하신 것 같이 칼과 기근과 역병으로 죽으려 하나이까? | Why will ye die, thou and thy people, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon? |
| 14 | 그러므로 당신들에게 말하여 이르기를, 너희가 바빌론 왕을 섬기지 아니하리라, 하는 대언자들의 말들에 귀를 기울이지 마소서. 그들이 당신들에게 거짓을 대언하나니 | Therefore hearken not unto the words of the prophets that speak unto you, saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. |
| 15 | 주께서 이르시되, 내가 그들을 보내지 아니하였으나 그들이 내 이름으로 거짓을 대언하는도다. 그런즉 내가 너희를 몰아내고 너희와 너희에게 대언하는 대언자들을 멸하리라, 하시나이다. | For I have not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophesy a lie in my name; that I might drive you out, and that ye might perish, ye, and the prophets that prophesy unto you. |
| 16 | 내가 또 제사장들과 이 온 백성에게 말하여 이르되, 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희에게 대언하여 이르되, 보라, 주의 집의 기구들을 이제 곧 바빌론에서 다시 가져오리라, 하는 너희 대언자들의 말들에 귀를 기울이지 말라. 그들이 너희에게 거짓을 대언하느니라. | Also I spake to the priests and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord; Hearken not to the words of your prophets that prophesy unto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the Lord’s house shall now shortly be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you. |
| 17 | 그들의 말에 귀를 기울이지 말고 바빌론 왕을 섬기라. 그리하면 살리라. 어찌하여 이 도시를 폐허로 남겨 두겠느냐? | Hearken not unto them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: wherefore should this city be laid waste? |
| 18 | 그러나 만일 그들이 대언자이며 주의 말씀이 그들에게 있거든 이제 그들은 만군의 주께 중보하여 주의 집과 유다 왕의 집과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 기구들이 바빌론으로 가지 못하게 하여야 할지니라. | But if they be prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them now make intercession to the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon. |
| 19 | ¶만군의 주가 기둥들과 바다와 받침들과 이 도시에 남아 있는 나머지 기구들에 관하여 이같이 말하노라. | For thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city, |
| 20 | 그것들은 바빌론 왕 느부갓네살이 유다 왕 여호야김의 아들 여고니야와 유다와 예루살렘의 모든 고귀한 자들을 예루살렘에서 바빌론으로 포로로 끌어갈 때에 가져가지 아니한 것들이라. | Which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not, when he carried away captive Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem; |
| 21 | 참으로 만군의 주 곧 이스라엘의 하나님이 주의 집과 유다 왕의 집과 예루살렘에 남아 있는 기구들에 관하여 이같이 말하노라. | Yea, thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah and of Jerusalem; |
| 22 | 그것들이 바빌론으로 옮겨지고 내가 그것들을 돌아보는 날까지 거기 있으리라. 그 뒤에 내가 그것들을 가져다가 이곳에 되돌리리라. 주가 말하노라, 하니라. | They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the Lord; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place. |
