| 1 | 다윗이 이르되, 사울의 집에서 아직 남아 있는 자가 있느냐? 내가 요나단으로 인하여 그에게 친절을 베풀리라, 하니라. | And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake? |
| 2 | 사울의 집에 속한 종이 하나 있었는데 그의 이름은 시바더라. 그들이 그를 다윗에게로 부르매 왕이 그에게 이르되, 네가 시바냐? 하니 그가 이르되, 왕의 종이 그로소이다, 하거늘 | And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him unto David, the king said unto him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he. |

And Ziba said unto the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, which is lame on his feet. |
| 4 | 왕이 그에게 이르되, 그가 어디 있느냐? 하니 시바가 왕에게 이르되, 보소서, 그가 로드발에 있는 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에 있나이다, 하니라. | And the king said unto him, Where is he? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lo–debar. |
| 5 | ¶그때에 다윗 왕이 사람을 보내어 로드발에서 암미엘의 아들 마길의 집에서 그를 데려오니라. | Then king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lo–debar. |
| 6 | 이제 사울의 손자요, 요나단의 아들인 므비보셋이 다윗에게 나아와 얼굴을 대고 엎드려 경의를 표하니 다윗이 이르되, 므비보셋이여, 하매 그가 응답하기를, 보소서, 주의 종이니이다! 하니라. | Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant! |
| 7 | ¶다윗이 그에게 이르되, 두려워하지 말라. 내가 네 아버지 요나단으로 인하여 반드시 네게 친절을 베풀고 네 조상 사울의 온 땅을 네게 도로 주리라. 너는 계속해서 내 상에서 빵을 먹을지니라, 하니 | And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. |
| 8 | 그가 절하여 이르되, 주의 종이 무엇이기에 왕께서 나같이 죽은 개를 돌아보시나이까? 하니라. | And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am? |
| 9 | ¶그때에 왕이 사울의 종 시바를 불러 그에게 이르되, 사울과 그의 온 집에 속한 모든 것을 내가 네 주인의 아들에게 주었나니 | Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said unto him, I have given unto thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house. |
| 10 | 그러므로 너와 네 아들들과 네 종들은 그를 위하여 땅을 갈고 열매를 거두어 네 주인의 아들에게 먹을 음식이 있게 하라. 그러나 네 주인의 아들 므비보셋은 항상 내 상에서 빵을 먹으리라, 하니라. 이제 시바에게는 아들 열다섯 명이 있었고 또 종 스무 명이 있었더라. | Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread alway at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants. |
| 11 | 그때에 시바가 왕에게 이르되, 내 주 왕께서 자신의 종에게 명령하신 모든 것대로 주의 종이 행하겠나이다, 하니라. 므비보셋에 관하여는 왕이 이르기를, 그가 왕의 아들들 중의 하나처럼 내 상에서 먹으리라, 하였더라. | Then said Ziba unto the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons. |
| 12 | 므비보셋에게 젊은 아들 하나가 있었는데 그의 이름은 미가더라. 시바의 집에 거하던 모든 자가 므비보셋의 종이 되니라. | And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants unto Mephibosheth. |
| 13 | 이처럼 므비보셋이 계속해서 왕의 상에서 먹었으므로 예루살렘에 거하니라. 그는 두 발을 다 절었더라. | So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he did eat continually at the king’s table; and was lame on both his feet. |
