1	소바르의 두 번째 충고 나아마 사람 소바르가 말을 받았다.	Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2	마음이 설레어, 대답하지 않고는 답답하여 견디지 못하겠네.	Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for this I make haste.
3	나더러 들으라고 하는 꾸지람이 사실은 나를 모욕하는 것, 그러나 거기에 대답할 말들을 나는 속으로부터 알고 있네.	I have heard the check of my reproach, and the spirit of my understanding causeth me to answer.
4	그래, 자네는 도무지 몰랐더란 말인가? 사람이 땅에 처음 나타나던 한 옛날부터	Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth,
5	악인의 웃음 소리란 금방 멎는 것이요, 위선자의 즐거움이란 찰나에 사라진다는 것을.	That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment?
6	하늘을 찌를 듯 우쭐하고 그 머리가 구름에 닿을 듯하다가도	Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds;
7	짐승의 마른 똥같이 단번에 날아가 버려 친지들조차 그의 행방을 모르게 된다는 것을.	Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
8	아무도 찾을 수 없이 꿈처럼 날아가고 밤의 환상처럼 사라진다는 것을.	He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.
9	그를 살피던 눈에 다시는 뜨이지 않고 몸담아 살던 곳에도 다시는 나타날 수 없는 몸,	The eye also which saw him shall see him no more; neither shall his place any more behold him.
10	그에게 착취당한 자들에게는 그의 자녀들이 보상해 주어야 하고 그가 빼앗은 재물은 그의 후손들이 물어주어야 하며	His children shall seek to please the poor, and his hands shall restore their goods.
11	그의 뼈 마디마디에서 넘치던 젊음도 이제는 그와 함께 땅에 잦아들고 만다네.	His bones are full of the sin of his youth, which shall lie down with him in the dust.
12	악을 씹어 단맛을 즐기고 혀 밑에서 살금살금 녹이면서	Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, though he hide it under his tongue;
13	아까워서 내뱉지 못하고 입 속으로 우물거리고 있지만	Though he spare it, and forsake it not; but keep it still within his mouth:
14	그러나 뱃속에서 그 음식은 썩어 뱀의 독으로 변한다네.	Yet his meat in his bowels is turned, it is the gall of asps within him.
15	집어삼켰던 재산은 아니 토해낼 수 없는 것, 하느님께서 밀어내시는데 어쩌겠는가?	He hath swallowed down riches, and he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
16	뱀의 독을 빨고 독사의 혀에 물려죽을 몸,	He shall suck the poison of asps: the viper’s tongue shall slay him.
17	올리브 기름이 흐르는 도랑, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 개천들을 볼 생각은 아예 말게나.	He shall not see the rivers, the floods, the brooks of honey and butter.
18	애써 얻은 것을 먹지도 못하고 돌려줘야 하며 장사해서 얻은 재산으로 재미도 보지 못하리니	That which he laboured for shall he restore, and shall not swallow it down: according to his substance shall the restitution be, and he shall not rejoice therein.
19	빈민들을 억눌러 들볶고 남이 지은 것을 빼앗기나 하면서 자기는 어찌 무사하리요?	Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not;
20	먹어도 먹어도 배부르지 아니하고 긁어 모은 재산에 얽매여 꼼짝없이 망한다네.	Surely he shall not feel quietness in his belly, he shall not save of that which he desired.
21	남아날 것 없이 마구 집어삼키고 어찌 자기의 영화가 오래 가리라고 믿겠는가?	There shall none of his meat be left; therefore shall no man look for his goods.
22	남아 돌아 흥청대다가, 재난이 밀어닥치면 갑자기 옹색하게 되고 만다네.	In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits: every hand of the wicked shall come upon him.
23	배를 채우려거든 채우게. 그러나 진노의 불길이 떨어지고 죽음의 화살이 쏟아져 내려,	When he is about to fill his belly, God shall cast the fury of his wrath upon him, and shall rain it upon him while he is eating.
24	철무기를 피하면 놋화살에 맞아	He shall flee from the iron weapon, and the bow of steel shall strike him through.
25	화살은 등을 뚫고 시퍼런 창끝은 쓸개를 터뜨릴 터인데 어찌 두렵지 않겠는가?	It is drawn, and cometh out of the body; yea, the glittering sword cometh out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
26	앞에서 그믐밤 같은 어둠이 도사리고 풀무질도 없이 타오르는 불길이 삼킬 듯 달려들어 천막에 남은 식구들까지 모두 사를 것일세.	All darkness shall be hid in his secret places: a fire not blown shall consume him; it shall go ill with him that is left in his tabernacle.
27	하늘은 그의 죄악을 폭로하러 나서고 땅은 그의 죄상을 증언하러 나서리니	The heaven shall reveal his iniquity; and the earth shall rise up against him.
28	하느님의 진노가 터지는 날, 그의 집은 홍수에 쓸려가고 말 것일세.	The increase of his house shall depart, and his goods shall flow away in the day of his wrath.
29	죄인이 하느님에게서 받을 분깃은 바로 이것, 이것이 하느님에게 물려받을 유산 아닌가?	This is the portion of a wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed unto him by God.
