1	아비얌의 유다 통치 느밧의 아들 여로보암 왕 십팔 년에 아비얌이 유다 왕위에 올랐다.	Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2	그가 예루살렘에서 다스린 기간은 삼 년밖에 되지 않았다. 왕의 어머니는 압살롬의 딸인 마아가였다.	Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3	그런데 왕은 자기의 부친을 본받아 모든 일에 같은 죄를 지었다. 왕의 선조 다윗은 야훼 하느님께 신실하였으나 아비얌 왕은 전혀 신실하지 못하였다.	And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father.
4	그러나 다윗의 하느님 야훼께서는 다윗을 보아서 예루살렘에서 아비얌의 뒤를 이어 불씨를 지킬 사람을 주셨다. 그의 뒤를 이을 아들을 일으켜 예루살렘을 거룩한 도성으로서 보전시키셨던 것이다.	Nevertheless for David’s sake did the Lord his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5	다윗은 헷 사람 우리야 사건을 제외하고는 일생 동안 야훼께서 보시기에 올바른 일만을 하였으며 야훼의 명을 어기지 않았다.	Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6	르호보암은 일생을 마칠 때까지 여로보암과 전쟁하였다.	And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7	아비얌 왕의 나머지 행적과 치적은 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다. 아비얌과 여로보암 사이에도 전쟁이 있었다.	Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8	아비얌이 열조들과 함께 잠이 들어 다윗 성에 매장되자 그의 아들 아사가 왕위를 계승하였다.	And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
9	아사의 유다 통치 이스라엘 왕 여로보암 제이십년에 아사가 유다 왕위에 올라	And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10	예루살렘에서 사십일 년간 다스렸다. 그의 할머니는 압살롬의 딸인 마아가였다.	And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11	그런데 아사는 조상 다윗을 본받아 야훼께서 보시기에 올바른 일을 하였다.	And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father.
12	왕은 전국에서 남창들을 소멸하고 그의 선왕들이 만든 우상들을 없애버렸다.	And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13	왕은 할머니 마아가가 아세라 여신에게 바치는 음탕한 것을 지니고 있다고 해서 대비의 자리에서 물러나게 하였다. 아사는 그것을 토막내어 키드론 시냇가에서 불살라 버렸다.	And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14	산당은 그대로 보존되었지만 그러나 아사는 일생 동안 야훼께 한결같이 신실하였다.	But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa’s heart was perfect with the Lord all his days.
15	그는 자기의 부친과 자기 자신이 거룩하게 바친 각종 금은 집기들을 야훼의 전에 바쳤다.	And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the Lord, silver, and gold, and vessels.
16	아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사는 그들이 살아 있는 동안 계속 전쟁을 하였다.	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17	이스라엘 왕 바아사는 유다를 침략하였다. 또 라마 성을 튼튼하게 보수하여 유다 왕 아사로 하여금 군대를 출동시키지 못하게 하였다.	And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
18	그러자 아사는 야훼의 전과 왕실 창고에 남아 있던 은과 금을 모조리 거두어서 사신을 시켜 시리아 왕에게 예물로 보내며 청을 넣었다. 당시 시리아는 헤지온의 손자이고 타브림몬의 아들인 벤하닷 왕이 다스리고 있었는데, 다마스쿠스를 수도로 정하고 있었다.	Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben–hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19	"나의 부친과 당신의 부친 사이에 맺으신 동맹은 나와 당신 사이에도 그대로 살아 있습니다. 나는 당신에게 은과 금을 예물로 보냅니다. 부디 이스라엘 왕 바아사와 맺으신 동맹을 파기하시고 바아사로 하여금 우리 영토에서 물러가게 해주십시오."	There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20	벤하닷은 아사 왕의 청을 받아들여 군사령관들을 불러 이스라엘 성읍들을 치게 하였다. 그는 이스라엘의 이욘, 단, 아벨벳마아가, 긴네렛, 그리고 납달리 전지역을 짓부수었다.	So Ben–hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel–beth–maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
21	바아사 왕은 이 소식을 듣자 라마 성을 보수하다 말고 디르사 지방으로 철수하였다.	And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22	이에 아사 왕은 유다 전국에 총동원령을 선포하여 바아사가 라마 성을 보수하는 데 쓰던 돌과 목재를 옮겨 와서 미스바와 베냐민 지방의 게바를 견고한 요새로 만들게 하였다.	Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23	아사의 나머지 행적, 치적 및 그가 축성한 성읍들에 관하여는 유다 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다. 왕은 나이가 많아지자 다리를 앓았다.	The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24	아사는 열조와 함께 잠들어 조상 다윗의 성에 있는 그의 왕실 묘지에 묻혔다. 그의 아들 여호사밧이 왕위를 계승하였다.	And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
25	나답의 이스라엘 통치 여로보암의 아들 나답은 유다 왕 아사 제이년에 이스라엘 왕이 되어 이 년간 다스렸다.	And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26	그는 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하였고 부친이 걸었던 악한 길을 그대로 걸었다. 그가 죄를 범함으로써 이스라엘 전체가 같은 죄에 빠지게 되었다.	And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
27	이싸갈 가문 출신 아히야의 아들 바아사가 나답 왕조에 반기를 들었다. 그는 이스라엘을 거느리고 불레셋 영토인 깁돈 성을 포위하고 있던 나답 왕을 쳤다.	And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
28	바아사는 이렇게 나답을 죽이고 왕위를 빼앗아 스스로 왕이 되었는데 때는 유다 왕 아사 제삼년이었다.	Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.
29	바아사는 왕이 되자마자 여로보암 가문을 씨도 남기지 않고 몰살시켰다. 야훼께서 실로 사람 아히야를 시켜 말씀하신 것이 그대로 이루어진 것이다.	And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the Lord, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
30	이 일은 여로보암이 스스로 죄를 지었을 뿐 아니라 이스라엘까지도 같은 죄에 빠지게 함으로써 이스라엘의 하느님 야훼의 분노를 샀기 때문에 일어난 것이다.	Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the Lord God of Israel to anger.
31	나답의 나머지 행적과 치적은 이스라엘 왕조실록에 모두 기록되어 있다.	Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
32	유다 왕 아사와 이스라엘 왕 바아사는 그들이 다스리는 동안 전쟁을 계속하였다.	And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
33	바아사의 이스라엘 통치 유다 왕 아사 제삼년에 아히야의 아들 바아사가 디르사에서 이스라엘 왕위에 올라 이십사 년간 다스렸다.	In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
34	그도 야훼의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 하였고 여로보암 왕이 걷던 길을 그대로 걸어 이스라엘을 같은 죄에 빠지게 하였다.	And he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
