절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	아사 왕 제삼십육년에 이스라엘 왕 바아사가 유다로 쳐들어와 라마 성을 보수하였다. 유다 왕 아사로 하여금 군대를 출동시키지 못하게 하려는 속셈이었다.	In the six and thirtieth year of the reign of Asa Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah, and built Ramah, to the intent that he might let none go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2	그러자 아사는 야훼의 성전 창고와 왕실 창고에 남아 있던 은과 금을 모조리 거두어서 다마스쿠스에 자리잡고 있는 아람 왕 벤하닷에게 보내며 청하였다.	Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the Lord and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben–hadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3	"나의 부친과 당신의 부친이 맺으신 동맹은 나와 당신의 사이에도 그대로 살아 있습니다. 나는 당신에게 은과 금을 예물로 보냅니다. 부디 이스라엘 왕 바아사와 맺으신 동맹을 파기하시고 바아사로 하여금 우리 영토에서 물러가게 해주십시오."	There is a league between me and thee, as there was between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent thee silver and gold; go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
4	벤하닷은 아사 왕의 청을 받아들여 군사령관들을 보내어 이스라엘 성읍들을 치게 하여, 이욘, 단, 아벨마임, 납달리의 곡식 저장성들을 모두 부수었다.	And Ben–hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel; and they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel–maim, and all the store cities of Naphtali.
5	바아사는 이 소식을 듣고 라마 성의 보수를 중단하였다.	And it came to pass, when Baasha heard it, that he left off building of Ramah, and let his work cease.
6	그러자 아사 왕은 온 유다인을 불러내어 바아사가 라마 성을 보수하는 데 쓰던 돌과 목재를 가져다가 게바와 미스바를 보수하였다.	Then Asa the king took all Judah; and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha was building; and he built therewith Geba and Mizpah.
7	그 때에 선견자 하나니가 유다 왕 아사에게 와서 말하였다. "임금님께서는 임금님의 하느님 야훼를 믿지 아니하고 아람 왕을 믿으셨습니다. 그 까닭으로 해서 아람 군대는 임금님의 손에서 벗어날 것입니다.	And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the Lord thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
8	구스와 리비야 연합군이 어찌 그 수가 많지 않았겠습니까? 병거도 군마도 한없이 많았습니다. 그러나 임금님의 믿음을 보시고 야훼께서는 그들을 임금님의 손에 부치셨던 것입니다.	Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the Lord, he delivered them into thine hand.
9	야훼께서는 당신께 일편단심인 사람에게 용기를 주시려고 온 나라를 두루 살피고 계십니다. 그런데 임금님께서는 이렇듯이 어리석게 행동하셨습니다. 이제부터 임금님께서는 전쟁으로 시달리실 것입니다."	For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10	아사는 몹시 화가 나서 그 선견자를 옥에 가두어버렸다. 그 일로 하여 그렇게도 화가 났던 것이다. 그 무렵부터 아사는 백성을 학대하기 시작하였다.	Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
11	아사의 역사는 처음부터 끝까지 유다 왕조실록과 이스라엘 왕조실록에 기록되어 있다.	And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12	아사는 왕이 된 지 삼십구 년 되던 해에 다리를 크게 앓았다. 이렇게 병이 들었지마는 그는 야훼를 찾지 아니하고 의사들을 찾았다.	And Asa in the thirty and ninth year of his reign was diseased in his feet, until his disease was exceeding great: yet in his disease he sought not to the Lord, but to the physicians.
13	아사가 숨을 거두고 세상을 떠난 것은 왕이 된 지 사십일 년 되던 해였다.	And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the one and fortieth year of his reign.
14	사람들은 온갖 향료 제조술을 따라 만든 향료와 향유를 섞은 기름을 흠씬 뿌린 침대에 그를 눕혀서 다윗 성에 미리 마련해 두었던 무덤에 안장하고 그 앞에 큰 불을 켜놓았다.	And they buried him in his own sepulchres, which he had made for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odours and divers kinds of spices prepared by the apothecaries’ art: and they made a very great burning for him.
