절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	다윗의 영광이 사방에 떨치다 띠로 왕 히람은 다윗에게 송백 목재와 석수와 목수를 사절단과 함께 보내어 궁궐을 짓게 하였다.	Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.
2	다윗은 야훼께서 자기를 튼튼히 세워 이스라엘의 왕으로 삼으시고 자기 왕권을 널리 떨치게 해주신 것은 당신 백성 이스라엘을 잘되게 하려고 하신 일임을 깨닫게 되었다.	And David perceived that the Lord had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.
3	다윗은 예루살렘에서 또 아내를 맞아 아들딸을 더 보았다.	And David took more wives at Jerusalem: and David begat more sons and daughters.
4	그가 예루살렘에서 낳은 아들은 삼무아, 소밥, 나단, 솔로몬,	Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,
5	이브할, 엘리수아, 엘벨렛,	And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,
6	노가, 네벡, 야비아,	And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7	엘리사마, 브엘랴다, 엘리벨렛이다.	And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.
8	불레셋 사람들은 이스라엘이 다윗을 기름 부어 왕으로 추대하였다는 말을 듣고는 모두 들고일어나 다윗을 잡으려고 쳐 올라왔다. 다윗이 이 소식을 듣고 그들을 맞아 싸우려고 나섰으나,	And when the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went out against them.
9	불레셋 군은 어느새 르바임 골짜기로 밀려들었다.	And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
10	다윗은 하느님께 "불레셋 군을 쳐들어가도 되겠습니까? 그들을 제 손에 부쳐주시겠습니까?" 하고 여쭈어보았다. 야훼께서 대답하셨다. "쳐들어가거라. 저 불레셋 군을 네 손에 부치겠다."	And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the Lord said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.
11	이스라엘 군은 바알브라심으로 쳐들어갔다. 거기에서 다윗은 적을 무찌르고 외쳤다. "물이 뚝을 무너뜨리듯, 야훼께서는 내 앞에서 적진을 무너뜨리셨다." 그래서 그 곳을 바알브라심이라고 부르게 되었다.	So they came up to Baal–perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal–perazim.
12	불레셋 군은 그 곳에 저희의 신상들마저 버리고 물러갔다. 다윗은 그 신상들을 불에 살라버리게 하였다.	And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.
13	불레셋 군이 또다시 그 골짜기로 밀려들었다.	And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.
14	다윗이 다시 하느님께 여쭙자 하느님께서 이런 말씀을 내리셨다. "마주 쳐들어가지 말고 그들을 에워싼 다음 사시나무 숲 맞은편에서 쳐들어가거라.	Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
15	사시나무 숲 윗쪽에서 발소리가 들리거든 나가서 싸워라. 그 소리는 이 하느님이 불레셋 진을 치러 앞장서 나가는 소리다."	And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
16	다윗은 하느님의 명령대로 하여 불레셋 군을 기브온에서 게젤까지 따라가며 무찔렀다.	David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.
17	다윗의 명성이 모든 나라에 전해지자 뭇 민족이 다윗을 두려워하게 되었다. 이것은 야훼께서 몸소 이루신 일이었다.	And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the Lord brought the fear of him upon all nations.
