1	하느님의 궤를 오베데돔의 집으로 다윗은 천인부대 지휘관, 백인부대 지휘관, 그 밖의 모든 지도자들과 의논하고	And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
2	이스라엘 온 회중에게 말하였다. "여러분이 좋게 여기고, 우리 하느님께서 허락만 해주신다면, 전국에 있는 다른 동족들을 불러오고, 목장 딸린 성읍들에서 사제들과 레위인들을 불러다가	And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, If it seem good unto you, and that it be of the Lord our God, let us send abroad unto our brethren every where, that are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites which are in their cities and suburbs, that they may gather themselves unto us:
3	사울 시대에 찾아오지 못한 하느님의 궤를 찾아오려고 하는데 어떻소?"	And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we enquired not at it in the days of Saul.
4	온 회중은 그것을 마땅한 일로 여겨 그렇게 하자고 하였다.	And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
5	다윗은 하느님의 궤를 키럇여아림에서 옮겨오려고, 이집트 시홀에서부터 하맛 어귀에 이르는 전국에서 온 이스라엘을 불러모았다.	So David gathered all Israel together, from Shihor of Egypt even unto the entering of Hemath, to bring the ark of God from Kirjath–jearim.
6	다윗은 하느님의 궤를 옮기려고 온 이스라엘을 이끌고 바알라라고 하는 유다 지파에 속한 키럇여아림 땅으로 갔다. 그 궤는 '거룹을 타고 계시는 야훼'라는 이름으로 불리는 궤였다.	And David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kirjath–jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubims, whose name is called on it.
7	드디어 그 하느님의 궤를 새 수레에 싣고 아비나답의 집을 나왔다. 아비나답의 아들 우짜와 아효는 수레를 몰고,	And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart.
8	다윗은 온 이스라엘과 함께 하느님 앞에서 수금과 거문고를 뜯으며 소구와 바라를 치고 나팔을 불면서 마음껏 노래를 부르며 춤을 추었다.	And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and with harps, and with psalteries, and with timbrels, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9	그들이 키돈이라는 사람의 타작 마당에 이르렀을 때였다. 소가 뛰는 바람에 궤가 떨어지려고 하자 우짜가 손을 대어 붙들었다.	And when they came unto the threshingfloor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
10	야훼께서는 우짜가 궤에 손을 댔다고 진노하시어 그를 치셨다. 우짜는 당장 하느님 앞에서 죽었다.	And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God.
11	다윗은 야훼께서 우짜를 치신 일이 몹시 마음에 걸려 그 곳을 베레스우짜라고 불렀는데, 그 이름이 지금까지 남아 있다.	And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perez–uzza to this day.
12	다윗은 그 날 야훼가 너무 두려워, "내가 어찌 감히 하느님의 궤를 모시랴." 하고	And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?
13	그 궤를 자기의 도성으로 모셔 가지 못하고 갓 사람 오베데돔의 집으로 옮겨 모셨다.	So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed–edom the Gittite.
14	그래서 오베데돔의 식구들이 하느님의 궤를 석 달 동안 모시게 되었는데, 그 동안 야훼께서는 오베데돔의 식구들과 그의 모든 재산에 복을 내려주셨다.	And the ark of God remained with the family of Obed–edom in his house three months. And the Lord blessed the house of Obed–edom, and all that he had.
