1	예루살렘 교회에서의 베드로의 보고 사도들과 유다에 있던 신도들은 이방인들도 하느님의 말씀을 받아들였다는 소식을 들었다.	And the apostles and brethren that were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
2	베드로가 예루살렘에 올라갔을 때에 할례를 주장하는 파에서 그를 비난하며	And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
3	"왜 당신은 할례받지 않은 사람들의 집에 들어가서 그들과 함께 음식까지 나누었습니까?" 하고 따졌다.	Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
4	베드로는 그 동안에 일어났던 일들을 처음부터 차근차근 설명해 주었다.	But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,
5	"내가 요빠 시에서 기도를 드리다가 무아지경에서 신비로운 영상을 보았는데 큰 보자기와 같은 그릇이 네 귀퉁이에 끈이 달려서 내려오다가 내 앞에서 멈추었습니다.	I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:
6	그 속을 자세히 들여다보았더니 땅에 있는 네 발 가진 짐승과 산짐승과 길짐승과 하늘의 날짐승이 있었습니다.	Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
7	그리고 '베드로야, 어서 잡아먹어라.' 하는 음성이 들려왔습니다.	And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
8	그래서 내가 '절대로 안 됩니다, 주님. 속된 것이나 더러운 것은 한 번도 입에 대어본 적이 없습니다.' 하고 말했더니	But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.
9	하늘에서 다시 '하느님께서 깨끗하게 만드신 것을 속되다고 하지 마라.' 하는 음성이 들려왔습니다.	But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
10	이런 말이 세 번이나 오고 간 뒤에 그것들은 모두 다시 하늘로 들려 올라갔습니다.	And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11	바로 그 때 가이사리아에서 나에게 심부름 온 사람 셋이 내가 머물러 있던 집에 찾아왔습니다.	And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea unto me.
12	성령께서는 나에게 '망설이지 말고 그들을 따라가거라.' 하고 말씀하셨습니다. 나는 여기 있는 신도 여섯 사람과 함께 그들을 따라가서 고르넬리오의 집에 들어갔습니다.	And the spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:
13	그 때 그는 우리에게 이런 말을 들려주었습니다. 그가 보니까 천사가 자기 집에 나타나더니 '요빠로 사람을 보내어 베드로라는 시몬을 불러오너라.	And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
14	그가 너와 네 온 집안이 구원받을 말씀을 해줄 것이다.' 하더라는 것입니다.	Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.
15	내가 말을 시작하자 성령이 처음에 우리에게 내려오셨던 것과 같이 그들 위에도 내려오셨습니다.	And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
16	그 때 나는 요한은 물로 세례를 베풀었지만 여러분은 성령으로 세례를 받을 것이라고 하신 주님의 말씀이 생각났습니다.	Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17	이와 같이 하느님께서는 주 예수 그리스도를 믿은 우리에게 주신 것과 같은 선물을 그들에게도 주셨는데 내가 누구이기에 감히 그 하시는 일을 막을 수 있었겠습니까?"	Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
18	그들은 이 말을 듣고 잠잠해졌다. 그리고 "이제 하느님께서는 이방인들에게도 회개하고 생명에 이르는 길을 열어주셨다." 하며 하느님을 찬양하였다.	When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
19	안티오키아에 세워진 교회 스데파노의 일로 일어난 박해 때문에 흩어진 신도들이 페니키아와 키프로스와 안티오키아까지 가서 유다인들에게만 말씀을 전하였다.	Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
20	그러나 그 신도들 중에는 키프로스 사람과 키레네 사람도 있었는데 그들은 안티오키아로 가서 이방인들에게도 말씀을 전하고 주 예수의 복음을 선포하였다.	And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
21	주께서 그들을 보살피셨으므로 많은 사람들이 믿고 주께로 돌아왔다.	And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.
22	예루살렘 교회가 그들에 대한 소식을 듣고 바르나바를 안티오키아로 보냈다.	Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
23	바르나바는 가서 그들에게도 하느님의 은총이 내린 것을 보고 기뻐하였다. 그리고 모두 굳센 마음으로 주님을 의지하라고 격려하였다.	Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.
24	바르나바는 성령과 믿음이 충만한 훌륭한 사람이었다. 그래서 많은 사람이 주님께 나오게 되었다.	For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
25	그 뒤 바르나바는 사울을 찾아 다르소로 가서	Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
26	그를 만나 안티오키아로 데리고 왔다. 거기에서 두 사람은 만 일 년 동안 그 곳 교회 신도들과 함께 지내면서 많은 사람들을 가르쳤다. 이 때부터 안티오키아에 있는 신도들이 처음으로 그리스도인이라고 불리게 되었다.	And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
27	그 무렵 예언자 몇 사람이 예루살렘에서 안티오키아로 내려왔다.	And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28	그들 가운데 하가보라는 사람이 성령의 감동을 받아 일어나서 온 세상에 큰 기근이 들 것이라고 예언하였다. 과연 이 기근은 글라우디오 황제 때에 일어났다.	And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Cesar.
29	그래서 신도들은 각각 힘 닿는 대로 헌금하여 유다에 있는 교우들을 돕기로 하였다.	Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judea:
30	이렇게 헌금한 것을 그들은 바르나바와 사울의 손을 거쳐 교회 원로들에게 보냈다.	Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
