1	야훼께서 모세와 아론의 아들인 엘르아잘 사제에게 이르셨다.	And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,
2	"이스라엘 백성 온 회중 가운데 스무 살이 넘어 군대에 나갈 수 있는 남자의 수효를 가문별로 세어라."	Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.
3	모세와 엘르아잘 사제는 예리고 가까이 요르단 강 가 모압 광야에서 그들의 수를 세었다.	And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,
4	야훼께서 모세에게 분부하신 대로 스무 살이 넘은 장정의 수를 세었다. 이집트 땅에서 나온 이스라엘 백성은 다음과 같다.	Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.
5	이스라엘의 맏아들은 르우벤인데, 르우벤의 후손은 다음과 같다. 하녹에게서 하녹 갈래가, 발루에게서 발루 갈래가,	Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:
6	헤스론에게서 헤스론 갈래가, 가르미에게서 가르미 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7	이상이 르우벤에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 사만 삼천칠백삼십 명이었다.	These are the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8	발루의 후손 가운데 엘리압이 있었고	And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.
9	엘리압에게는 느무엘, 다단, 아비람이라는 후손이 있었다. 이 다단과 아비람은 이스라엘 회중의 대표였는데, 이들이 바로 코라의 편이 되어 모세와 아론을 거역하고 야훼에게 대항하던 자들이다.	And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, which were famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the Lord:
10	땅이 입을 벌려 코라를 삼켜버렸을 때 그 무리도 함께 죽었다. 그 때 이백오십 명이 불에 타죽어 본보기가 되었으나,	And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.
11	코라의 후손은 죽음을 면하였다.	Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.
12	시므온의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 느무엘에게서 느무엘 갈래가, 야민에게서 야민 갈래가, 야긴에게서 야긴 갈래가,	The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:
13	제라에게서 제라 갈래가, 사울에게서 사울 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14	이상이 시므온에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 이만 이천이백 명이었다.	These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15	가드의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 스본에게서 스본 갈래가, 하끼에게서 하끼 갈래가, 수니에게서 수니 갈래가,	The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:
16	오즈니에게서 오즈니 갈래가, 에리에게서 에리 갈래가,	Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:
17	아롯에게서 아롯 갈래가, 아르엘리에게서 아르엘리 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
18	이상이 가드의 후손에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 사만 오백 명이었다.	These are the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19	유다의 아들, 에르와 오난은 가나안 땅에서 죽었다.	The sons of Judah were Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20	유다의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 셀라에게서 셀라 갈래가, 베레스에게서 베레스 갈래가, 제라에게서 제라 갈래가 생겼다.	And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.
21	베레스의 후손은 다음과 같다. 헤스론에게서 헤스론 갈래가, 하물에게서 하물 갈래가 생겼다.	And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22	이상이 유다에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 칠만 육천오백 명이었다.	These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
23	이싸갈의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 돌라에게서 돌라 갈래가, 부아에게서 부아 갈래가,	Of the sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:
24	야숩에게서 야숩 갈래가, 시므론에게서 시므론 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25	이상이 이싸갈에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 육만 사천삼백 명이었다.	These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26	즈불룬의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 세렛에게서 세렛 갈래가, 엘론에게서 엘론 갈래가, 야흘르엘에게서 야흘르엘 갈래가 생겼다.	Of the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
27	이상이 즈불룬에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 육만 오백 명이었다.	These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
28	요셉의 후손은 갈래를 따라 므나쎄와 에브라임으로 갈라진다.	The sons of Joseph after their families were Manasseh and Ephraim.
29	므나쎄의 후손은 아래와 같다. 마길에게서 마길 갈래가 생겼고, 그 마길에게서 길르앗이 났다. 길르앗에게서 길르앗 갈래가 생겼는데	Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead come the family of the Gileadites.
30	길르앗의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 이에젤에게서 이에젤 갈래가, 헬렉에게서 헬렉 갈래가,	These are the sons of Gilead: of Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:
31	아스리엘에게서 아스리엘 갈래가, 세겜에게서 세겜 갈래가,	And of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:
32	스미다에게서 스미다 갈래가, 헤벨에게서 헤벨 갈래가 생겼다.	And of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33	그런데 헤벨의 아들 슬롭핫은 딸만 두었고 아들은 없었다. 슬롭핫의 딸들의 이름은 마흘라, 노아, 호글라, 밀가, 디르사였다.	And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34	이상이 므나쎄에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 오만 이천칠백 명이었다.	These are the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35	에브라임의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 수델라에게서 수델라 갈래가, 베겔에게서 베겔 갈래가, 다한에게서 다한 갈래가 생겼다.	These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36	수델라의 후손은 에란인데, 에란에게서 에란 갈래가 생겼다.	And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37	이상이 에브라임 후손의 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 삼만 이천오백 명이었다. 이상이 갈래를 따라 본 요셉의 후손이다.	These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38	베냐민의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 벨라에게서 벨라 갈래가, 아스벨에게서 아스벨 갈래가, 아히람에게서 아히람 갈래가,	The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:
39	스부밤에게서 스부밤 갈래가, 후밤에게서 후밤 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40	벨라에게는 아르드와 나아만이라는 아들이 있었다. 아르드에게서 아르드 갈래가, 나아만에게서 나아만 갈래가 생겼다.	And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman: of Ard, the family of the Ardites: and of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41	이상이 베냐민 후손의 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 사만 오천육백 명이었다.	These are the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42	단의 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 수함에게서 수함 갈래가 생겼다. 이상이 단에게서 나온 갈래인데	These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43	등록된 수는 모두 육만 사천사백 명이었다.	All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
44	아셀 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 임나에게서 임나 갈래가, 이스위에게서 이스위 갈래가, 브리아에게서 브리아 갈래가 생겼다.	Of the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
45	브리아의 후손으로는 헤벨에게서 헤벨 갈래가, 말기엘에게서 말기엘 갈래가 생겼다.	Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
46	아셀에게는 세라라는 딸이 있었다.	And the name of the daughter of Asher was Sarah.
47	이상이 아셀 후손의 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 오만 삼천사백 명이었다.	These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them; who were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48	납달리 후손은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 야하스엘에게서 야하스엘 갈래가, 구니에게서 구니 갈래가,	Of the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:
49	예셀에게서 예셀 갈래가, 실렘에게서 실렘 갈래가 생겼다.	Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50	이상이 납달리에게서 나온 갈래들인데 등록된 수는 모두 사만 오천사백 명이었다.	These are the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51	이렇게 등록된 이스라엘 백성은 모두 육십만 천칠백삼십 명이었다.	These were the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.
52	야훼께서 모세에게 말씀하셨다.	And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
53	"등록된 사람의 수를 따라 이들에게 땅을 유산으로 나누어주어라.	Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54	사람이 많으면 유산을 많이 주고 적으면 유산을 적게 주어라. 이렇게 등록된 사람의 수에 따라 각기 유산을 나누어주어라.	To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.
55	그런데 땅을 나누어줄 때에는 선조 때로부터 내려오는 지파의 이름을 따라 나누어주되 주사위를 던져서	Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56	그 결과를 따라 많으면 많은 대로 적으면 적은 대로 유산을 나누어주어라."	According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.
57	등록된 레위인은 아래와 같은 갈래로 갈라진다. 게르손에게서 게르손 갈래가, 크핫에게서 크핫 갈래가, 므라리에게서 므라리 갈래가 생겼다.	And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58	레위의 갈래는 리브니 갈래, 헤브론 갈래, 마흘리 갈래, 무시 갈래, 코라 갈래로 갈라진다. 크핫에게서 아므람이 났다.	These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.
59	아므람의 아내 이름은 요게벳인데, 레위가 이집트에서 얻은 딸이다. 이 요게벳이 아므람에게 아론과 모세, 그리고 딸 미리암을 낳아주었다.	And the name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom her mother bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60	아론에게서 나답, 아비후, 엘르아잘, 이다말이 태어났는데,	And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
61	나답과 아비후는 속된 불을 가지고 야훼 앞으로 나갔다가 죽었다.	And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the Lord.
62	한 달 이상 된 남자로서 등록된 레위인의 수는 이만 삼천 명이었다. 그들은 이스라엘 백성 가운데서 받을 유산이 없었으므로 이스라엘 백성과 같은 등록부에 오르지 않았다.	And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63	이상이 모세와 사제 엘르아잘이 예리고 가까운 요르단 강 가 모압 광야에서 조사한 이스라엘 백성의 인구였다.	These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.
64	이들 속에는 모세와 사제 엘르아잘이 시나이 광야에서 인구를 조사할 때 등록한 사람은 하나도 없었다.	But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65	야훼께서 모두 광야에서 죽으리라고 말씀하신 대로 여분네의 아들 갈렙과 눈의 아들 여호수아를 제외하고는 모두가 죽었기 때문이었다.	For the Lord had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
