1	하늘에 기적을 요구하는 유다인들 바리사이파 사람들과 사두가이파 사람들이 와서 예수의 속을 떠보려고 하느님의 인정을 받았다는 표가 될 만한 기적을 보여달라고 하자	The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.
2	예수께서 이렇게 대답하셨다. "너희는 저녁때에는 '하늘이 붉은 것을 보니 날씨가 맑겠구나.' 하고	He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.
3	아침에는 '하늘이 붉고 흐린 것을 보니 오늘은 날씨가 궂겠구나.' 한다. 이렇게 하늘을 보고 날씨는 분별할 줄 알면서 왜 시대의 징조는 분별하지 못하느냐?	And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
4	악하고 절개 없는 이 세대가 기적을 요구하나 요나의 기적밖에는 따로 보여줄 것이 없다." 그리고 나서 예수께서는 그들을 뒤에 두고 떠나가셨다. ()	A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.
5	그들의 누룩을 조심하여라 제자들이 호수 건너편으로 가면서 잊어버리고 빵을 가져가지 못하였다.	And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6	그런데 예수께서 "너희는 정신을 차리고 바리사이파 사람들과 사두가이파 사람들의 누룩을 조심하여라." 하고 말씀하시자	Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7	제자들은 "우리가 빵을 가져오지 않았구나!" 하며 수군거렸다.	And they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have taken no bread.
8	예수께서 그 눈치를 알아채시고 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "빵이 없다고 걱정들을 하다니, 너희는 그렇게도 믿음이 약하냐?	Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
9	아직도 모르겠느냐? 빵 다섯 개로 오천 명이나 먹이고도 남아서 거두어들인 것이 몇 바구니나 되었느냐?	Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10	그리고 빵 일곱 개로 사천 명을 먹였을 때는 또 몇 바구니나 거두어들였느냐? 그것을 다 잊었느냐?	Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11	내가 한 말은 빵 이야기가 아니었는데 그것을 어찌하여 깨닫지 못하느냐? 바리사이파 사람들과 사두가이파 사람들의 누룩을 조심하여라."	How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12	그제야 그들은 예수께서 조심하라고 하신 것이 빵의 누룩이 아니라 바리사이파 사람들과 사두가이파 사람들의 가르침이라는 것을 깨달았다. (; )	Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
13	베드로의 고백 예수께서 필립보의 가이사리아 지방에 이르렀을 때에 제자들에게 "사람의 아들을 누구라고 하더냐?" 하고 물으셨다.	When Jesus came into the coasts of Cesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14	"어떤 사람들은 세례자 요한이라 하고 어떤 사람들은 엘리야라 하고 또 예레미야나 예언자 가운데 한 분이라고 하는 사람들도 있습니다." 제자들이 이렇게 대답하자	And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15	예수께서 이번에는 "그러면 너희는 나를 누구라고 생각하느냐?" 하고 물으셨다.	He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16	"선생님은 살아 계신 하느님의 아들 그리스도이십니다." 시몬 베드로가 이렇게 대답하자	And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17	예수께서는 "시몬 바르요나, 너에게 그것을 알려주신 분은 사람이 아니라 하늘에 계신 내 아버지시니 너는 복이 있다.	And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18	잘 들어라. 너는 베드로이다. 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세울 터인즉 죽음의 힘도 감히 그것을 누르지 못할 것이다.	And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19	또 나는 너에게 하늘 나라의 열쇠를 주겠다. 네가 무엇이든지 땅에서 매면 하늘에도 매여 있을 것이며 땅에서 풀면 하늘에도 풀려 있을 것이다." 하고 말씀하셨다.	And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20	그리고 나서 예수께서는 자신이 그리스도라는 것을 아무에게도 말하지 말라고 단단히 당부하셨다. (; )	Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.
21	수난에 대한 첫 번째 예고 그 때부터 예수께서는 제자들에게 자신이 반드시 예루살렘에 올라가 원로들과 대사제들과 율법학자들에게 많은 고난을 받고 그들의 손에 죽었다가 사흘 만에 다시 살아날 것임을 알려주셨다.	From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22	베드로는 예수를 붙들고 "주님, 안 됩니다. 결코 그런 일이 있어서는 안 됩니다." 하고 말리었다.	Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
23	그러나 예수께서는 베드로를 돌아다보시고 "사탄아, 물러가라. 너는 나에게 장애물이다. 너는 하느님의 일을 생각하지 않고 사람의 일만을 생각하는구나!" 하고 꾸짖으셨다.	But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.
24	예수를 따르는 길 그리고 제자들에게 이렇게 말씀하셨다. "나를 따르려는 사람은 누구든지 자기를 버리고 제 십자가를 지고 따라야 한다.	Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25	제 목숨을 살리려고 하는 사람은 잃을 것이며 나를 위하여 제 목숨을 잃는 사람은 얻을 것이다.	For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26	사람이 온 세상을 얻는다 해도 제 목숨을 잃으면 무슨 소용이 있겠느냐? 사람의 목숨을 무엇과 바꾸겠느냐?	For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
27	사람의 아들이 아버지의 영광에 싸여 자기 천사들을 거느리고 올 터인데 그 때에 그는 각자에게 그 행한 대로 갚아줄 것이다.	For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
28	나는 분명히 말한다. 여기 서 있는 사람들 중에는 죽기 전에 사람의 아들이 자기 나라에 임금으로 오는 것을 볼 사람도 있다."	Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
