절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	형제 여러분, 나는 내 동족이 구원받기를 마음으로 간절히 원하며 하느님께 간구합니다.	Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2	나는 하느님께 대한 그들의 열성만은 충분히 인정합니다. 그러나 그 열성은 바른 지식에 근거를 둔 것이 아닙니다.	For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3	그들은 하느님께서 인간을 당신과 올바른 관계에 놓아주시는 길을 깨닫지 못하고 제 나름의 방법을 세우려고 하면서 하느님의 방법을 따르지 않았습니다.	For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4	그리스도께서 나타나심으로 율법은 끝이 났고 그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 하느님과 올바른 관계를 가지게 되었습니다.	For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5	구원은 만민에게 모세는 사람이 율법을 통해서 하느님과 올바른 관계를 가질 수 있다고 하면서 "율법을 지키는 사람은 그것을 지킴으로써 생명을 얻는다."고 기록하였습니다.	For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6	그러나 믿음을 통해서 얻는 하느님과의 올바른 관계에 대해서는 하느님께서 "누가 저 높은 하늘까지 올라갈까 하고 속으로 걱정하지 마라." 하고 말씀하십니다. 이 말씀은 그리스도를 모셔 내리기 위해서 하늘까지 올라갈 필요는 없다는 말씀입니다.	But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7	또 하느님께서 "누가 저 깊은 땅 속까지 내려갈까 하고 걱정하지 마라." 하십니다. 이 말씀은 그리스도를 죽음의 세계에서 모셔 올리기 위하여 땅 속까지 내려갈 필요는 없다는 말씀입니다.	Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8	하느님께서 "말씀은 네 바로 곁에 있고 네 입에 있고 네 마음에 있다." 하셨는데 이것은 우리가 전파하는 믿음의 말씀을 가리켜 하신 말씀입니다.	But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9	예수는 주님이시라고 입으로 고백하고 또 하느님께서 예수를 죽은 자들 가운데서 다시 살리셨다는 것을 마음으로 믿는 사람은 구원을 받을 것입니다.	That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10	곧 마음으로 믿어서 하느님과 올바른 관계에 놓이게 되고 입으로 고백하여 구원을 얻게 됩니다.	For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11	성서에도 "그를 믿는 사람은 누구든지 수치를 당하지 않으리라."는 말씀이 있지 않습니까?	For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12	유다인이나 이방인이나 아무런 구별이 없습니다. 같은 주님께서 만민의 주님이 되시고 당신의 이름을 부르며 찾는 모든 사람에게 풍성한 복을 내리십니다.	For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13	"주님의 이름을 부르는 사람은 누구든지 구원을 얻으리라."는 말씀이 있지 않습니까?	For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14	그러나 믿지 않는 분의 이름을 어떻게 부를 수 있겠습니까? 또 들어보지도 못한 분을 어떻게 믿겠습니까? 말씀을 전해 주는 사람이 없으면 어떻게 들을 수 있겠습니까?	How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15	전도자로서 파견받지 않고서 어떻게 전도를 할 수 있겠습니까? "기쁜 소식을 전하는 이들의 발이 얼마나 아름다운가!" 하는 말이 바로 그 말씀입니다.	And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
16	그러나 모든 사람이 다 그 복음을 받아들인 것은 아닙니다. "주님, 우리가 일러준 말을 누가 믿었습니까?" 하고 이사야도 한탄한 일이 있습니다.	But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17	그러므로 들어야 믿을 수 있고 그리스도를 전하는 말씀이 있어야 들을 수 있습니다.	So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
18	나는 묻겠습니다. 그들이 그 말씀을 한 번도 들어본 적이 없습니까? 분명히 들었습니다. 성서의 말씀에도, "그들의 소리가 온 땅에 울려 퍼졌고 그들의 말이 땅 끝까지 이르렀다." 하지 않았습니까?	But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.
19	나는 다시 묻겠습니다. 이스라엘 사람들이 그 말씀을 알아듣지 못했습니까? 우선 모세의 말을 들어보십시오. "나는 너희로 하여금 내 백성이 아닌 자들을 시기하게 하겠고 어리석은 백성을 보고 화나게 하리라." 하였습니다.	But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.
20	또 이사야는 더욱 대담하게, "나를 찾지 않던 사람들이 나를 만났고 나를 구하지 않던 사람들이 나를 보았다." 하였습니다.	But Esaias is very bold, and saith, I was found of them that sought me not; I was made manifest unto them that asked not after me.
21	그러나 이스라엘에 대해서는 "나는 온종일 내 팔을 벌려 이 백성을 기다렸으나 그들은 순종하지 않고 오히려 나를 거역하고 있다." 하고 말하였습니다.	But to Israel he saith, All day long I have stretched forth my hands unto a disobedient and gainsaying people.
