절	공동번역 개정판 (1999)	King James Version
1	그리스도께서 우리를 해방시켜 주셔서 우리는 자유의 몸이 되었습니다. 그러니 마음을 굳게 먹고 다시는 종의 멍에를 메지 마십시오.	Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
2	그리스도인의 자유 나 바울로가 여러분에게 말합니다. 만일 여러분이 할례를 받는다면 그리스도가 여러분에게 아무런 이익도 되지 못할 것입니다.	Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.
3	할례를 받는 모든 사람에게 다시 강조합니다. 할례를 받는 사람은 율법 전체를 지킬 의무를 지는 것입니다.	For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
4	율법을 지킴으로써 하느님과 올바른 관계를 맺으려는 여러분은 그리스도와 관계가 끊어졌고 은총에서 벗어났습니다.	Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
5	그러나 우리는 하느님께서 우리의 믿음을 보시고 성령을 통해서 우리를 당신과 올바른 관계에 놓아주시리라는 희망을 가지고 있습니다.	For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.
6	그리스도 예수를 믿는 사람에게는 할례를 받았다든지 받지 않았다든지 하는 것이 중요하지 않고 오직 사랑으로 표현되는 믿음만이 중요합니다.	For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.
7	여러분이 전에는 그렇게도 잘 달리고 있었는데 누가 여러분을 가로막아 진리를 따르지 못하게 하였습니까?	Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?
8	여러분을 부르신 분이 그렇게 꾀었을 리는 없습니다.	This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.
9	적은 누룩이 온 반죽을 부풀게 합니다.	A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
10	여러분과 함께 주님을 믿는 나는 여러분이 다른 생각을 품지 않으리라는 것을 확신합니다. 또 여러분의 마음을 교란시키는 자는 그가 누구든지 간에 심판을 받을 것입니다.	I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.
11	형제 여러분, 만일 내가 여전히 할례의 필요성을 주장하고 있다면 왜 내가 지금까지 박해를 받겠습니까? 내가 아직도 할례를 전하고 있다면 내가 전하는 십자가가 걸림돌이 되지는 않을 것입니다.	And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.
12	할례를 주장하여 여러분을 선동하는 자들은 그 지체를 아예 잘라버리는 것이 어떻겠습니까?	I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
13	형제 여러분, 하느님께서는 자유를 주시려고 여러분을 부르셨습니다. 그러나 그 자유를 여러분의 육정을 만족시키는 기회로 삼지 마십시오. 오히려 여러분은 사랑으로 서로 종이 되십시오.	For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
14	모든 율법은 "네 이웃을 네 몸같이 사랑하여라." 하신 한마디 말씀으로 요약됩니다.	For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15	그러나 여러분이 서로 물어뜯고 삼키고 하면 피차 멸망할 터이니 조심하십시오.	But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
16	성령의 열매와 육정의 열매 내 말을 잘 들으십시오. 육체의 욕정을 채우려 하지 말고 성령께서 이끄시는 대로 살아가십시오.	This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17	육체의 욕망은 성령을 거스르고 성령께서 원하시는 것은 육정을 거스릅니다. 이 둘은 서로 반대되는 것이기 때문에 여러분은 자기가 원하는 일을 할 수 없게 됩니다.	For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18	성령을 따라 사는 사람은 율법의 지배를 받지 않습니다.	But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19	육정이 빚어내는 일은 명백합니다. 곧 음행, 추행, 방탕,	Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20	우상 숭배, 마술, 원수 맺는 것, 싸움, 시기, 분노, 이기심, 분열, 당파심,	Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21	질투, 술주정, 흥청대며 먹고 마시는 것, 그 밖에 그와 비슷한 것들입니다. 내가 전에도 경고한 바 있지만 지금 또다시 경고합니다. 이런 짓을 일삼는 자들은 결코 하느님 나라를 차지하지 못할 것입니다.	Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22	성령께서 맺어주시는 열매는 사랑, 기쁨, 평화, 인내, 친절, 선행, 진실,	But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23	온유, 그리고 절제입니다. 이것을 금하는 법은 없습니다.	Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24	그리스도 예수에게 속한 사람들은 육체를 그 정욕과 욕망과 함께 십자가에 못박은 사람들입니다.	And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
25	성령께서 우리에게 생명을 주셨으니 우리는 성령의 지도를 따라서 살아가야 합니다.	If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26	우리는 잘난 체하지 말고 서로 싸움을 걸지 말고 서로 질투하지 말아야 합니다.	Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
