| 5 | နာဇရက်မြို့သား ယေရှုကိုရှာကြသည်ဟုဆိုလျှင်၊ ယေရှုက၊ ငါသည်ထိုသူဖြစ်၏ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ ကိုယ်တော်ကိုအပ်နှံသော ယုဒရှကာရုတ်သည်လည်း ထိုသူတို့နှင့်အတူရပ်နေ၏။ | They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. |

| 8 | ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ငါသည်ထိုသူဖြစ်၏ဟုငါပြောပြီ။ သို့ဖြစ်၍ငါ့ကိုရှာလျှင် ဤသူတို့သည် သွားပါလေ စေဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way: |

The servant’s name was Malchus. |

| 14 | ထိုကယာဖကား၊ လူတယောက်သည် လူများတို့အတွက် ပျက်စီးသော် သာ၍ကောင်းသည်ဟု ယုဒလူ တို့နှင့် တိုင်ပင်ပြောဆိုသောသူပေတည်း။ | Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people. |

Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter. |
| 17 | တံခါးစောင့်မိန်းမက ပေတရုအား၊ သင်သည် ထိုသူ၏တပည့်တို့အဝင်ဖြစ်သည် မဟုတ်လောဟု ဆိုလျှင်၊ မဟုတ်ဘူးဟု ပေတရုငြင်းလေ၏။ | Then saith the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Art not thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not. |
| 18 | ထိုကာလ၌ ချမ်းသောကြောင့် ကျွန်များနှင့်မင်းလုလင်များတို့သည် မီးခဲပုံကိုထည့်၍ မီးလှုံလျက် နေ ကြ၏။ ပေတရုသည်လည်း သူတို့နှင့်တကွရပ်၍ မီးလှုံလျက်နေ၏။ | And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself. |
| 19 | ထိုအခါ ယဇ်ပုရာဟိတ်မင်းသည် တပည့်တော်တို့ကို၎င်း၊ ဒေသနာတော်ကို၎င်း အကြောင်းပြု၍ ယေရှုကို မေးမြန်းစစ်ကြော၏။ | The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine. |
| 20 | ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ငါသည်လောက၌ ထင်ရှားစွာဟောပြောပြီ။ ယုဒလူအပေါင်းတို့ စည်းဝေးရာတရား စရပ်၌၎င်း၊ ဗိမာန်တော်၌၎င်း၊ အစဉ်မပြတ်ဆုံးမဩဝါဒပေးပြီ။ မထင်ရှားဘဲ အလျှင်းမဟောမပြော။ | Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing. |
| 21 | အဘယ်ကြောင့်ငါ့ကို မေးမြန်းသနည်း၊ ငါသည် အဘယ်သို့ ဟောပြောသည်ကို ကြားနာသောသူတို့ကို မေးမြန်းလော့။ ငါပြောသောစကားကို ထိုသူတို့သည် သိကြ၏ဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | Why askest thou me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said. |
| 22 | ထိုသို့မိန့်တော်မူလျှင်၊ အနီးအပါး၌ရပ်နေသော မင်းလုလင်တယောက်က၊ သင်သည် ယဇ်ပုရာဟိတ် မင်းကို ဤသို့ပြန်ပြောရာသလောဟုဆိုလျက် ယေရှုကိုရိုက်လေ၏။ | And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so? |
| 23 | ယေရှုကလည်း၊ ငါ့စကားမမှန်လျှင်မမှန်ကြောင်းကိုပြပါ မှန်လျှင်ငါ့ကိုအဘယ်ကြောင့်ရိုက်သနည်းဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smitest thou me? |
| 24 | အန္နတ်မင်းသည် ကိုယ်တော်ကိုချည်နှောင်လျက် ရှိသည်အတိုင်း၊ ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ်မင်း ကယာဖထံသို့ ပို့စေခဲ့ပြီ။ | Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest. |
| 25 | ရှိမုန်ပေတရုသည် ရပ်၍မီးလှုံလျက်နေသည်တွင် အချို့သောသူတို့က၊ သင်သည် သူ၏တပည့်တို့ အဝင်ဖြစ်သည်မဟုတ်လောဟု မေးလျှင်၊ မဟုတ်ဘူးဟု ပေတရုငြင်းလေ၏။ | And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not. |
| 26 | ပေတရုခုတ်၍ နားရွက်ပြတ်သောသူနှင့်ပေါက်ဘော်တော်သော ယဇ်ပုရာဟိတ်မင်း၏ ကျွန်တ ယောက်က၊ သင်သည် ဥယျာဉ်၌ ယေရှုနှင့်အတူရှိသည်ကို ငါမြင်ခဲ့ပြီမဟုတ်လောဟုဆိုလျှင်၊ | One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him? |
| 27 | ပေတရုသည် တဖန်ငြင်းပြန်လေ၏၊ ထိုခဏခြင်းတွင် ကြက်တွန်၏။ | Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew. |
| 28 | နံနက်အချိန်ရောက်လျှင်၊ ယေရုကို ကယာဖထမှ အိမ်တော်ဦးသို့ဆောင်သွားကြ၏။ ထိုသူတို့သည် အာပတ်နှင့်ကင်းလွတ်၍ ပသခါပွဲကို ခံရမည်အကြောင်း။ အိမ်တော်ဦးထဲသို့ ကိုယ်တိုင်မဝင်ကြ။ | Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. |
| 29 | ထိုကြောင့် ပိလတ်မင်းသည် သူတို့ရှိရာသို့ထွက်၍ ဤသူ၌အဘယ်အပြစ်ကို တင်ကြသနည်းဟု မေးသော်၊ | Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring ye against this man? |
| 30 | ဤသူသည်လူဆိုးမဟုတ်လျှင် အကျွန်ုပ်တို့သည် ကိုယ်တော်၌မအပ်ပါဟုလျှောက်ကြ၏။ | They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee. |
| 31 | ပိလတ်မင်းကလည်း၊ သူ့ကိုယူ၍ သင်တို့ ဓမ္မသတ်အတိုင်းစီရင်ကြဟုဆို၏။ ယုဒလူတို့ကလည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် အဘယ်သူကိုမျှ မသတ်ပိုင်ပါဟုလျှောက်ကြ၏။ | Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: |
| 32 | ထိုသို့လျှောက်သော်၊ ယေရှုသည်အဘယ်သို့ မိမိသေရမည်အရိပ်ကိုပေး၍၊ မိန့်တော်မူသောစကား တော် ပြည့်စုံမည်အကြောင်းတည်း။ | That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die. |
| 33 | ပိလတ်မင်းသည် အိမ်တော်ဦးထဲသို့တဖန်ဝင်၍ယေရှုကိုခေါ်ပြီးလျှင်၊ သင်သည် ယုဒရှင်ဘုရင် မှန် သလောဟုမေး၏။ | Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? |
| 34 | ယေရှုကလည်း၊ မင်းကြီးသည် ကိုယ်အလိုအလျောက် ဤသို့မေးသလော၊ သို့မဟုတ် သူတပါးတို့သည် ငါ၏အကြောင်းကို လျှောက်ကြပြီလောဟု မေးတော်မူ၏။ | Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? |
| 35 | ပိလတ်မင်းက၊ ငါသည်ယုဒလူဖြစ်သလော။ သင်၏လူမျိုးနျင့်တကွ ယဇ်ပုရောဟိတ်အကြီးတို့သည် သင့်ကိုငါ၌အပ်ကြပြီ။ သင်သည် အဘယ်သို့ပြုမိသနည်းဟုမေးလျှင်၊ | Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? |
| 36 | ယေရှုက၊ ငါ၏နိုင်ငံသည် ဤလောကနှင့်မစပ်ဆိုင်။ ငါ၏နိုင်ငံသည် ဤလောကနှင့် စပ်ဆိုင်လျှင်၊ ငါသည် ယုဒလူတို့လက်သို့မရောက်စေခြင်းငှါ၊ ငါ၏လူတို့သည် တိုက်လှန်ကြလိမ့်မည်။ ယခုမူကား ငါ၏နိုင်ငံ သည် ဤဒေသအရပ်နှင့်မစပ်ဆိုင်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ | Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. |
| 37 | ပိလတ်မင်းကလည်း၊ သို့ဖြစ်လျှင် သင်သည်ရှင်ဘုရင်မှန်သလောဟုမေးသော်၊ ယေရှုက၊ မင်းကြီး မေးသည်အတိုင်း ငါသည်ရှင်ဘုရင်မှန်၏။ သမ္မာတရားဘက်၌ သက်သေခံခြင်းငှါ ငါသည်မွေးဘွားခြင်းကိုခံ၍ ဤလောကသို့ကြွလာပြီ။ သမ္မာတရားနှင့်စပ်ဆိုင်သမျှသောသူတို့သည် ငါ့စကားကိုနားထောင်ကြသည်ဟု မိန့် တော်မူ၏။ | Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. |

| 40 | တဖန်လူအပေါင်းတို့က၊ ဤသူကို မလွှတ်စေချင်ပါ၊ ဗာရဗ္ဗကို လွှတ်စေချင်ပါသည်ဟု အော်ဟစ်၍ လျှောက်ဆိုကြ၏။ ထိုဗာရဗ္ဗကား လွှတ်စေချင်ပါသည်ဟုအော်ဟစ်၍လျှောက်ဆိုကြ၏။ ထိုဗရဗ္ဗကား ထားပြဖြစ် သတည်း။ | Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. |
