| 1 | ငါး၏ဝမ်းထဲမှာနေစဉ်တွင်၊ ယောနသည် မိမိ ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရားကို ဆုတောင်းသောစကားဟူ မူကား၊ | Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly, |
| 2 | ငါသည် ဒုက္ခဆင်းရဲကို ခံရသောကြောင့်၊ ထာဝရ ဘုရားကို ဟစ်ခေါ်၍ ငါ့စကားကို ကြားတော်မူ၏။ မရ ဏာနိုင်ငံ၏ဝမ်းထဲက ဟစ်ခေါ်သော စကားသံကို နား ထောင်တော်မူ၏။ | And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. |

| 4 | ထိုသို့ မျက်မှောက်တော်မှ နှင်ထုတ်ခြင်းကို ခံရ သော်လည်း၊ သန့်ရှင်းသောဗိမာန်တော်ကို မျက်မှောက်ပြု မြဲ ပြုပါမည်ဟု အောက်မေ့လျက်နေ၏။ | Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple. |
| 5 | ရေတို့သည် အကျွန်ုပ်အသက်ကို သေစေခြင်းငှါ ဝိုင်းသဖြင့်၊ အကျွန်ုပ်သည် ပင်လယ်အလယ်၌ အချုပ်ခံရ ပါ၏။ ပင်လယ်မြက်ပင်သည် အကျွန်ုပ်ခေါင်းကို ပေါင်းစည်းလျက်ရှိပါ၏။ | The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head. |
| 6 | တောင်ခြေရင်းအမြစ်သို့ အကျွန်ုပ်ဆင်း၍၊ မြေ ကန့်လန့်ကျင်အတွင်း၌ အစဉ်အမြဲပိတ်ထားသော်လည်း၊ အကျွန်ုပ်၏ဘုရားသခင် ထာဝရဘုရား၊ ကိုယ်တော်သည် အကျွန်ုပ်အသက်ကို ပျက်စီးရာမှ ကယ်ဆယ်တော်မူလိမ့် မည်။ | I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God. |
| 7 | အကျွန်ုပ်သည် စိတ်ပျက်သောအခါ ထာဝရဘုရား ကို အောက်မေ့၍၊ အကျွန်ုပ်၏ပဌနာသည် သန့်ရှင်းသော ဗိမာန်တော်၌ ကိုယ်တော်ထံသို့ ဝင်ပါ၏။ | When my soul fainted within me I remembered the Lord: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple. |
| 8 | မုသာအနတ္တကို မှီဝဲသောသူတို့သည် မိမိတို့ ကရုဏာခံရာအကြောင်းကို စွန့်ပစ်ကြပါ၏။ | They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. |
| 9 | အကျွန်ုပ်မူကား၊ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ချီးမွမ်းသော စကားနှင့် ကိုယ်တော်အား ယဇ်ပူဇော်ပါမည်။ သစ္စာဂတိ ထားသည်အတိုင်း သစ္စာဝတ်ကို ပြုပါမည်။ ထာဝရ ဘုရား၏ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကြောင့် ချမ်းသာရပါသည်ဟု ဆုတောင်းလေ၏။ | But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. |
| 10 | ထိုအခါ ငါးကြီးသည် ထာဝရဘုရား၏ အမိန့် တော်ကို ခံ၍ ယောနကို ကုန်းပေါ်သို့ အန်လေ၏။ | And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. |
