| 1 | ဗာဗုလုန်မြစ်တို့အနားမှာ ငါတို့သည်ထိုင်၍၊ ဇိအုန်မြို့ကို အောက်မေ့လျက် ငိုကြွေးကြ၏။ | By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. |
| 2 | ငါတို့စောင်းများကိုလည်း ထိုအရပ်တွင် မိုဃ်း မခပင်တို့၌ ဆွဲထားကြ၏။ | We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. |
| 3 | အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုအရပ်၌ ငါတို့ကို ဘမ်း သွားချုပ်ထားသော သူနှင့်၊ ငါတို့ကိုညှဉ်းဆဲသောသူတို့က၊ ဇိအုန်သီချင်းကို ငါတို့အား ဆိုကြလော့ဟု၊ သီချင်းဆိုသံကို ၎င်း၊ ရွှင်လန်းသော အသံကို၎င်း ငါတို့၌ တောင်းကြပါ သည်တကား။ | For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. |

| 5 | အိုယေရုရှလင်မြို့၊ သင့်ကို ငါမေ့လျှင် ငါ့လက်ျာ လက်သည် မိမိအတတ်ကိုမေ့ပါစေ။ | If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. |
| 6 | သင့်ကိုငါမအောက်မေ့၊အမြတ်ဆုံးသော ဝမ်း မြောက်ခြင်းအကြောင်းထက်၊ ယေရုရှလင်မြို့ကို အမြတ် မထားလျှင်၊ ငါ့လျှာသည် အာခေါင်၌ထပ်ပါစေ။ | If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy. |

| 8 | ဖျက်ဆီးတတ်သော ဗာဗုလုန်မင်းသမီး၊ သင် သည် ငါတို့၌ ပြုသည်အတိုင်း၊ သင်၌အပြစ်ကိုဆပ်ပေး သောသူသည် မင်္ဂလာရှိ၏။ | O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. |
