| 1 | 汝等の心騒ぐべからず、神を信ずれば我をも信ぜよ。 | Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. |
| 2 | 我父の家に住所多し、然らずば我既に汝等に告げしならん、其は至りて汝等の為に處を備へんとすればなり。 | In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
| 3 | 至りて汝等の為に處を備へたる後、再び來りて汝等を携へ、我が居る處に汝等をも居らしめん。 | And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. |
| 4 | 汝等は我が往く處を知り、又其道をも知れり、と。 | And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. |
| 5 | トマ云ひけるは、主よ、我等は其往き給ふ處を知らず、争でか其道を知る事を得ん、と。 | Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? |
| 6 | イエズス之に曰ひけるは、我は道なり、眞理なり、生命なり、我に由らずしては父に至る者はあらず。 | Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. |
| 7 | 汝等若我を知りたらば、必ず我父をも知りたらん、今より汝等之を知らん、而も既に之を見たり、と。 | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |
| 8 | フィリッポ之に向ひ、主よ、父を我等に示し給へ、然らば我等事足るべし、と云へるを、 | Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. |
| 9 | イエズス曰ひけるは、我斯も久しく汝等と共に居れるに、汝等尚我を知らざるか、フィリッポよ、我を見る人は父をも見るなり、何ぞ父を我等に示せと云ふや、 | Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? |
| 10 | 我父に居り父我に在す、とは汝等信ぜざるか、我が汝等に語る言は己より語るに非ず、父こそ我に在して自ら業を為し給ふなれ。 | Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. |
| 11 | 汝等は、我れ父に居り父我に在すと信ぜざるか、 | Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. |
| 12 | 然らば業其物の為に信ぜよ。誠に實に汝等に告ぐ、我を信ずる人は自ら亦我が為す業をも為し、而も之より大いなる者を為さん、其は我父の許に之けばなり。 | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. |
| 13 | 汝等が我名に由りて（父に）求むる所は、何事も我之を為さん、是父が子に於て光榮を歸せられ給はん為なり。 | And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
| 14 | 汝等我名によりて何をか我に求めば、我之を為さん。 | If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. |
| 15 | 汝等若我を愛せば我命を守れ、 | If ye love me, keep my commandments. |
| 16 | 而して我は父に請ひ、父は他の弁護者を汝等に賜ひて、永遠に汝等と共に止らしめ給はん。 | And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; |
| 17 | 是即ち眞理の霊にして、世は之を見ず且知らざるに由りて、之を承くるに能はず、然れども汝等は之を知らん、其は汝等と共に止りて、汝等の中に居給ふべければなり。 | Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. |
| 18 | 我汝等を孤児として遺さじ、将に汝等に來らんとす。 | I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. |
| 19 | 今暫時にして、世は最早我を見ざるべし、然れど汝等は我を見る、其は我は活き居りて汝等も亦活くべければなり。 | Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. |
| 20 | 汝等彼日に、我わが父に居り、汝等我に居り、我汝等に居る事を暁らん。 | At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. |
| 21 | 我命令を有して之を守る者は、是我を愛する者なり、我を愛する者は我父に愛せらるべく、我も之を愛して之に己を顕すべし、と。 | He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. |
| 22 | 彼イスカリオテに非ざるユダ、イエズスに謂ひけるは、主よ何為ぞ、己を我等に顕して世に顕し給はざるや。 | Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? |
| 23 | イエズス答へて曰ひけるは、人若我を愛せば、我言を守らん、斯て我父は彼を愛し給ひ、我等彼に至りて其内に住まん、 | Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. |
| 24 | 我を愛せざる者は我言を守らず、而して汝等の聞きしは我言に非ずして、我を遣し給ひし父のなり。 | He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. |
| 25 | 我尚汝等と共に居りて是等の事を汝等に語りしが、 | These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. |
| 26 | 父の我名に由りて遣はし給ふべき弁護者たる聖霊は、我が汝等に謂ひし総ての事を教へ、且思出でしめ給ふべし | But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. |
| 27 | 我は平安を汝等に遺し、我平安を汝等に與ふ、我が之を與ふるは、世の與ふる如くには非ず、汝等の心騒ぐべからず、又怖るべからず、 | Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. |
| 28 | 曾て我往きて復汝等に來らんとと云ひしは、汝等が聞ける所なり、汝等我を愛するならば、必ず我が父の許に歸るを喜ぶならん、父は我より更に大いに在せばなり。 | Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. |
| 29 | 今事の成るに先だちて我が汝等に告げたるは、其成りて後汝等に信ぜしめん為なり。 | And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. |
| 30 | 最早多く汝等に語らじ、蓋此世の長來る、彼は我に何の権をも有せず。 | Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. |
| 31 | 然れど我が父を愛して父の我に命じ給ひし如く行ふ事を世の知らん為に、立て、将此處より去らん。 | But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. |
