| 2 | 願はくは我父にて在す神及び主イエズス、キリストより、恩寵と平安とを汝等に賜はらん事を。 | Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 3 | 祝すべき哉、我主イエズス、キリストの神及び父、是はキリストに於て諸の霊的祝福を以て我等を天より祝し給ひ、 | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: |
| 4 | 御前に於て聖にして汚なき者たらしめんとて、寵愛を以て、世界開闢以前よりキリストによりて選み給ひ、 | According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: |
| 5 | 思召のまにまに、イエズス、キリストを以て己が子とならしめん事を預定し給ひたればなり。 | Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, |
| 6 | 是最愛なる御子に於て我等に賜ひし榮光ある恩寵の誉の為なり。 | To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. |
| 7 | 我等が贖を得、罪の赦を得るは、キリストに在りて其御血によれり、即ち神の豊なる恩寵に由れるなり。 | In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; |
| 8 | 其恩寵我等に溢れて、諸の智恵及び悟を開けり、 | Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; |
| 9 | 是御旨に從ひて、キリストを以て預定し給ひし思召の奥義を、我等に諭し給はん為なり。 | Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: |
| 10 | 此思召は、時期の満つるに及びて一切のもの、即ち天に在るものをも地に在るものをも悉くキリストに於て一の首の下に輯め給ふに在り。 | That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: |
| 11 | 我等もキリストに於て選まれ、思召す儘に萬事を行ひ給ふものの量に從ひて預定せられたり、 | In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: |
| 12 | 是先んじてキリストを希望せし我等が、其光榮の誉とならん為なり。 | That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. |
| 13 | 汝等も亦キリストに於て、眞理の言なる汝等の救霊の福音を聞き、且之を信じて約束せられ給ひたりし聖霊を以て證印せられしが、 | In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, |
| 14 | 之汝等の世嗣の保證として、獲られたる人々の贖となり、其光榮の誉と成らん為に賜はりたるなり。 | Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. |
| 15 | 故に我も、主イエズスに於る汝等の信仰と、凡ての聖徒に對する愛情とを聞きて、 | Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, |
| 16 | 不絶汝等の為に感謝し、我祈祷の中に汝等を記念す。 | Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; |
| 17 | 祈る所は我主イエズス、キリストの神、光榮の父が、汝等に知識と黙示との霊を賜ひて神を識らしめ、 | That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: |
| 18 | 汝等の心の眼を明にして、其召によれる希望の如何を識らしめ、聖徒等に賜ふべき世嗣の光榮富の如何を識らしめ | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, |
| 19 | 其全能の勢力の作為によりて、信奉る我等に於て、其勢力の如何に優れて偉大なるかを識らしめ給はん事是なり。 | And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, |
| 20 | 其勢力をキリストに於て顕し、之を死者の中より復活せしめ、天に於て之を己の右に置き、 | Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, |
| 21 | 一切の権勢と能力と、勢力と主権との上、又凡て今世のみならず來世にも名けられて名[あるもの]の上に置き給ひ、 | Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: |
| 22 | 萬物を其御足の下に服せしめ、教會の萬事の上に頭となし給へり。 | And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, |
| 23 | 即ち教會はキリストの御體にして、萬物に萬事を満たし給へるものの充満ち給ふ所なり。 | Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. |
