| 1 | イエズス己が十二の弟子を召集め、是に汚鬼等を逐払ひ、諸の病、諸の患を醫す権能を賜ひしが、 | And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. |
| 2 | 其十二使徒の名は、第一ペトロと云へるシモン、其兄弟アンデレア、 | Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; |
| 3 | ゼベデオの子ヤコボ及其兄弟ヨハネ、フィリッポ及バルトロメオ、トマ及税吏マテオ、アルフェオの[子]ヤコボ及タデオ、 | Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus; |

| 5 | イエズス此十二人を遣はすとて、命じて曰ひけるは、汝等異邦人の道に往かず、サマリア人の町にも入らず、 | These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: |
| 6 | 寧イスラエルの家の迷へる羊に往け。 | But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. |
| 7 | 往きて天國は近づけりと宣教へよ。 | And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. |
| 8 | 病人を醫し、死人を蘇らせ、癩病人を淨くし、惡魔を逐払へ。價無しに受けたれば價無しに與へよ。 | Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. |
| 9 | 金銀又は銭を汝等の帯に持つこと勿れ、 | Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, |
| 10 | 旅嚢も二枚の下着も、沓も杖も亦同じ、其は働く人は其糧を受くるに價すればなり。 | Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat. |
| 11 | 何れの町村に入るも、其中に相應しき人の誰なるかを尋ねて、出るまで其處に留まれ。 | And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence. |
| 12 | 家に入る時、此家に平安あれかしと云ひて之を祝せよ、 | And when ye come into an house, salute it. |
| 13 | 其家果して是に値するものならば、汝等の[祈る]平安其上に臨まん、若し値せざるものならば、其平安汝等に歸らん。 | And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. |
| 14 | 総て汝等を承けず、汝等の言を聞かざる人に向ひては、其家又は町を出て足の塵を払へ。 | And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. |
| 15 | 我誠に汝等に告ぐ、審判の日に當りて、ソドマ人とゴモラ人との地は、此町よりも忍び易からん。 | Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. |
| 16 | 看よ、我が汝等を遣はすは、羊を狼の中に[入るるが]如し、故に蛇の如く敏く、鴿の如く素直なれ。 | Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. |
| 17 | 人に警戒せよ、其は汝等を衆議所に付し、又其諸會堂にて鞭つべければなり。 | But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; |
| 18 | 又我為に汝等官吏帝王の前に引かれて、彼等及異邦人に證となる事あるべし、 | And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. |
| 19 | 付さるる時、如何に又何を云はん、と案ずること勿れ、云ふべき事は其時汝等に賜はるべければなり。 | But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. |
| 20 | 蓋其語るは汝等に非ずして、父の霊の汝等の中に在して語り給ふなり。 | For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. |
| 21 | 然りながら兄弟は兄弟を死に付し、父は子を付し、子等は兩親に逆らひ、且之を殺さん、 | And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. |
| 22 | 又我名の為に、汝等凡ての人に憎まれん、然れど終まで堪忍ぶ人は救はるべし。 | And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. |
| 23 | 此町にて迫害せられなば他の町に遁れよ、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、人の子の來る迄に、汝等イスラエルの町々を盡さざるべし。 | But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come. |
| 24 | 弟子は其師に優らず、僕は其主人に優らざるなり。 | The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. |
| 25 | 弟子としては其師の如く、僕としては其主人の如くなれば足れり。人々家父をベエルゼブブと名けたれば、况や其族をや。 | It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household? |
| 26 | 然れは彼等を怖るる勿れ、其は蔽はれて顕れざるべきは無く、隠れて知れざるべきは無ければなり。 | Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. |
| 27 | 我が暗黒に於て汝等に云ふ事を、汝等光明に於て云へ、耳を當てて聞く事を屋根の上にて宣べよ。 | What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. |
| 28 | 又身を殺して魂を殺し得ざる者を怖るること勿れ、寧魂と身とを地獄に亡ぼし得る者を怖れよ。 | And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. |
| 29 | 二羽の雀は二銭にて売るに非ずや、然も汝等の父によらずしては、其一羽だも地に落つる事あらじ。 | Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. |
| 30 | 汝等は毛髪までも皆數へられたり、 | But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. |
| 31 | 故に怖るること勿れ、汝等は多くの雀に優れり。 | Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. |
| 32 | 然れば総ての人の前に我を宣言する人は、我も亦天に在す我父の御前に之を宣言すべく、 | Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. |
| 33 | 人の前に我を否む人は、我も亦天に在す我が父の御前に之を否むべし。 | But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. |
| 34 | 我地に平和を持來れりと思ふこと勿れ、我が持來れるは平和に非ずして刃なり。 | Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. |
| 35 | 我が來れるは、人を其父より、女を其母より、嫁を其姑より分つべきなり。 | For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. |
| 36 | 人の族は其仇となるべし。 | And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. |
| 37 | 我よりも父若くは母を愛する人は我に應はず、我よりも子若くは女を愛する人は我に應はず、 | He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. |
| 38 | 又己が十字架を取りて我に從はざる人は我に應はざるなり、 | And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. |
| 39 | 己が生命を保つ人は之を失ひ、我為に生命を失ふ人は之を保たん。 | He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. |
| 40 | 汝等を承くる人は我を承くるなり、我を承くる人は我を遣はし給ひし者を承くるなり。 | He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. |
| 41 | 預言者の名の為に預言者を承くる人は、預言者の報を受け、義人の名の為に義人を承くる人は、義人の報を受けん。 | He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. |
| 42 | 誰にもあれ、弟子の名の為に、冷水の一杯をも、此最小き者の一人に飲まする人は、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、其報を失ふことあらじ、[と宣へり]。 | And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. |
