1 安息日の翌日、婦人等支度せし香料を携へて朝早く墓に至り、 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
2 墓より石の転ばし退けられたるを見て、 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.
3 内に入りけるに、主イエズスの御屍見當らざしかば、 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 之に當惑したりしが、折しも輝ける衣服を着けたる二人の男、彼等の傍に立てり。 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5 彼等懼れて俯きたるに、其二人言ひけるは、何ぞ生者を死者の中に尋ぬるや、 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 彼は此處に在さず、復活し給へり。思出せ、未だガリレアに居給ひし時、如何に汝等に語りしかを。 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 即ち、人の子は必ず罪人の手に付され、十字架に釘けられ、三日目に復活すべし、と曰ひしなり、と。 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 婦人等此御言を思出し、 And they remembered his words,
9 墓より歸りて、一切の事を十一使徒及び他の人々に告げたり。 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 使徒等に告げしは、マグダレナ、マリアとヨハンナとヤコボの母マリア及び伴へる婦人等なりしが、 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.
11 其言荒誕の様に覚えて、使徒等は之を信ぜざりき。 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.
12 然れどペトロは起ちて墓に走行き、身を屈めて唯布のみ置かれたるを見しかば、有りし次第を心に怪しみつつ去れり。 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
13 然て同日に弟子の二人、エルザレムより約三里を隔てたる、エンマウスと名くる村に往く途中、 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 此起りたる凡ての事を語合ひ居たりしが、 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 斯く語合ひて僉議しつつある程に、イエズス御自らも近づきて、彼等に伴ひ居給へり。 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 然れど彼等の目は之を認めざる様、覆はれてありき。 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 斯て彼等に向ひ、汝等が歩みながら語合ひつつ悲しめるは何の談ぞ、と曰ひしかば、 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 名をクレオファと云へる一人答へて云ひけるは、汝は獨りエルザレムに於る旅人にして、此頃彼處に起りし事を知らざるか、と。 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 イエズス何事ぞ、と曰ひしに彼等言ひけるは、ナザレトのイエズスの事なり、彼は預言者にして、言行ともに神と一般の人民とに對して勢力ありしが、 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 我大司祭、及び首領等は、之に死罪を言渡して十字架に釘けたる次第なり。 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21 我等は、彼こそイスラエルを贖ふべき者なれと、待設け居たりしが、此等の事ありてより今日は早三日目なり。 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22 然て我等の中の或婦人等も亦我等を驚かせたり、即ち彼等未明に墓に至りしに、 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23 イエズスの御屍見當らず、而も天使等の現れて、彼は活き給へりと告ぐるを見たり、と云ひつつ來れり、 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 斯て我等の中より或人々墓に往きしに、婦人等の云ひし如くなるを見しも、彼をば見付けざりき、と。 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 イエズス彼等に曰ひけるは、嗚呼愚にして預言者等の語りし凡ての事を信ずるに心鈍き者よ、 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26 キリストは、是等の苦を受けて而して己が光榮に入るべき者ならざりしか、と。 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 斯てモイゼ及び諸の預言者を初め、凡ての聖書に就きて、己に関する所を彼等に説明し居給ひしが、 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 彼等其之く所の村に近づきし時、イエズス行過ぎんとするものの如くにし給へるを、 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 彼等強ひて、日既に傾きて暮れんとすれば、我等と共に留り給へ、と云ひしかば共に入り給へり。 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 斯て共に食卓に就き給へるに、麪を取りて之を祝し、擘きて彼等に授け給ひければ、 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 彼等の目開けてイエズスを認りしが、忽ちにして其目より消え給へり。 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 彼等語合ひけるは、路次語りつつ聖書を我等に説明かし給へる間、我等の心は胸の中に熱したりしに非ずや、と。 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 時を移さず、立上りてエルザレムに歸れば、十一使徒及び伴へる人々既に集りて、 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 主實に復活してシモンに現れ給ひたり、と云ひ居れるに遇ひ、 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 己等も亦、途中にて起りし事、及び麪を擘き給ひし時に主を認めし次第を語れり。 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.
36 此等の事を語る程に、イエズス其眞中に立ちて、汝等安かれ、我なるぞ、畏るること勿れ、と曰ひければ、 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
37 彼等驚き怖れて、幽霊を見たりと思へるを、 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 イエズス曰ひけるは、汝等何ぞ取亂して心に種々の思を起すや。 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
39 我手我足を見よ、即ち我自身なり、撫で試みよ、幽霊は、汝等が我に於て見る如き骨肉ある者に非ず、 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 と曰ひて手足を彼等に示し給へり。 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 彼等歓喜の餘に驚嘆しつつも、猶信ぜざりければ、イエズス、茲に食すべき物ありや、と曰ひ、 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?
42 彼等焼魚の一片と、一房の蜂蜜とを呈したるに、 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.
43 彼等の前にて食し給ひ、殘を取りて彼等に與へ給へり。 And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 然て彼等に曰ひけるは、是我が未だ汝等と共に在りし時に、モイゼの律法と預言者等の書と詩篇とに、我に関して録したる事は、悉く成就せざるべからず、と汝等に語りし事なり、と。 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 是に於て聖書を暁らしめん為に、彼等の精神を啓きて曰ひけるは、 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 録されたる所斯の如く、又キリストは苦を受けて、死者の中より三日目に復活すること、斯の如くなるべかりき。 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 又改心と罪の赦とは、エルザレムを始め、凡ての國民に、其名に由りて宣傳へられざるべからず、 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
48 汝等は此等の事の證人なり。 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 我は父の約し給へるものを汝等に遣はさんとす、汝等天よりの能力を着せらるるまで市中に留れ、と。 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
50 イエズス終に彼等をベタニアに伴ひ、手を挙げて之を祝し給ひしが、 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 祝しつつ彼等を離れて、天に上げられ給ひぬ。 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
52 彼等之を拝し奉り、大いなる喜を以てエルザレムに歸りしが、 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53 其より常に[神]殿に在りて、神を頌賛し且祝し奉りつつありき、アメン。 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
