| 1 | 是故に我等は、御慈悲を蒙りたるによりて聖役を有する者なれば、弱る事なく、 | Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; |
| 2 | 耻隠す所を棄て、狡猾に挙動ふ事を為ず、又神の御言を僞造せずして眞理を顕し、神の御前に凡ての人の良心に訴へて己を立つるなり。 | But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. |
| 3 | 若我等の福音にして尚覆を以て包まれたりとせば、其は亡ぶる人々に對して包まれたるなり。 | But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: |
| 4 | 即ち彼等に於て、世間の神不信者の心を暗まし、神の像に在せるキリストの光榮の福音の光を、彼等の上に輝かしめじとせるなり。 | In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. |
| 5 | 蓋我等は己が事を宣べず、我主イエズス、キリストの事を宣べて、イエズス、キリストの為に己を汝等の僕となす。 | For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. |
| 6 | 蓋命じて光を闇より輝かしめ給ひし神は、キリスト、イエズスの御顔に在る神の光榮の知識を輝かしめん為に、自ら我等の心を照らし給へり。 | For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. |
| 7 | 然れども我等は此寳を土器の中に有てるなり、是力の偉大なる所は、我等に由らずして神に由るべき故なり。 | But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. |
| 8 | 我等萬事に患難を受くれども苦悩せず、窮迫極れども失望せず、 | We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; |
| 9 | 迫害を受くれども棄てられず、倒さるれども亡びず、 | Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; |
| 10 | 何時もイエズスの死を我身に帯ぶ、是イエズスの生命が亦我等の身に於て顕れん為なり。 | Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. |
| 11 | 即ち我等は活ける者なれども、常にイエズスの為死に付さる、是イエズスの生命が、亦死すべき我肉身に於て顕れん為なり。 | For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. |
| 12 | 然れば死は我等の中に働き、生命は汝等の中に働くなり。 | So then death worketh in us, but life in you. |
| 13 | 然るに信仰の同じ霊を有すれば、録して、「我信じたるが故に語りしなり」とあるが如く、我等も亦信ずるが故に語る、 | We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; |
| 14 | イエズスを復活せしめ給ひしものが、我等をもイエズスと共に復活せしめ、汝等と共に立たしめ給ふべしと知ればなり。 | Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. |
| 15 | 蓋萬事は汝等の為にして、是恩寵豊に、神の光榮として愈多くの人の感謝を豊ならしめん為なり。 | For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. |
| 16 | 故に我等は沮喪せず、我等の外面の人は腐敗すれども、内面の人は却て日々に新なり。 | For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. |
| 17 | 其は我等の短く軽き現在の患難が、我等に永遠重大にして無比なる光榮を準備すればなり。 | For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; |
| 18 | 我等の顧みるは見ゆるものに非ずして見えざるものなり、其は見ゆるものは此世に限れど見えざるものは永遠なればなり。 | While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. |
