| 1 | 兄弟等よ、霊的[賜]に関しては、我汝等の知らざるを好まず。 | Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. |
| 2 | 汝等異邦人たりし時、誘はるる儘に、言はぬ偶像に趣き居たりし次第は、汝等の知れる所なり。 | Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. |
| 3 | 故に我汝等に示さん、誰も神の霊に由りて語るに、イエズス詛はれよと言ふ人なく、又誰も聖霊に由らずして、イエズスを主にて在すと言を得ず。 | Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. |
| 4 | 偖て賜の分配は異なれども霊は同一にて在す。 | Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. |
| 5 | 聖役の分配も亦異なれども主は同一にて在す。 | And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. |
| 6 | 作業の分配も亦異なれども、総ての人の中に総ての事を行ひ給ふ神は同一にて在す。 | And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. |
| 7 | 然るに霊の顕れ給事を人々に賜はるは公益の為にして、 | But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. |
| 8 | 一人は霊を以て知識の詞を賜はり、 | For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; |
| 9 | 一人は同じ霊に從ひて學識の詞を賜はり、一人は同じ霊に由りて信仰を賜はり、一人は同じ霊に由りて病を醫す恵を賜はり、 | To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; |
| 10 | 一人は奇蹟を行ひ、一人は預言し、一人は精神を識別し、一人は他國語を語り、一人は他國語を通訳する事を賜はるなり。 | To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: |
| 11 | 然れども此等を悉く行ひ給ふものは同一の霊に在して、思召の儘に面々に分與へ給ふなり。 | But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. |
| 12 | 是身は一なるに其肢は多く、身に於る一切の肢は多しと雖も一の身なるが如く、キリストも亦然るなり。 | For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. |
| 13 | 即ち我等は、或はユデア人、或はギリシア人、或は奴隷、或は自由の身なるも、一體と成らん為に悉く一の霊に於て洗せられ、皆一の霊に飲飽かしめられたり。 | For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. |
| 14 | 蓋身は一の肢に非ずして多くの肢なり、 | For the body is not one member, but many. |
| 15 | 足もし我は手に非ざる故に身に属せずと云はば、果して身に属せざるか、 | If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? |
| 16 | 耳もし我は目に非ざる故に身に属せずと云はば、果して身に属せざるか、 | And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? |
| 17 | 若身を挙りて目ならば聞く所は何處ぞ、身を挙りて聞く所ならば嗅ぐ所は何處ぞ、 | If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? |
| 18 | 然れば神は、思召の儘に肢を其々身に置き給へるなり。 | But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. |
| 19 | 皆一の肢ならば、身は何處にか在るべき、 | And if they were all one member, where were the body? |
| 20 | 今肢は多しと雖も、身は一なり。 | But now are they many members, yet but one body. |
| 21 | 目手に向ひて、我汝の助を要せずと云ひ、頭も亦兩足に向ひて、汝等我に必要ならずと云ふ能はず。 | And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. |
| 22 | 身の中に最も弱しと見ゆる肢は却て必要なり。 | Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: |
| 23 | 又身の中に於て我等が殊に卑しと思へる肢は、之に物を纏ひて更に光榮を添へ、又醜き部分は一層之を鄭重にすれども、 | And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. |
| 24 | 尊き部分に至りては却て何物をも要せず、神は身體を調和し給ひて、缼乏せる所には尚豊に榮耀を加へ給へり。 | For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: |
| 25 | 是身の中に分裂ある事なく、肢の相一致し扶合はんが為にして、 | That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. |
| 26 | 一の肢苦しめば諸の肢共に苦しみ、一の肢尊ばるれば諸の肢共に喜ぶなり。 | And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. |
| 27 | 今汝等はキリストの身にして、其幾分の肢なり。 | Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. |
| 28 | 斯て神は教會に於て或人々を置き給ふに、第一に使徒等、第二に預言者、第三に教師、次に奇蹟[を行ふ人]、其次に病を醫す賜[を得たる人]、施[を為す人]、司る者、他國語を語る者、他國語を通訳する者を置き給へり。 | And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. |
| 29 | 挙りて使徒なるか、挙りて預言者なるか、挙りて教師なるか、 | Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? |
| 30 | 挙りて奇蹟を行ふ者なるか、挙りて病を醫す恵を有する者なるか、挙りて他國語を語る者なるか、挙りて通訳する者なるか、 | Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? |
| 31 | 汝等は最も善き賜を慕へ、我は尚勝たる道を示さん。 | But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. |
