1 ノアの子セム、ハム、ヤペテの系図は次のとおりである。洪水の後、彼らに子が生れた。 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2 ヤペテの子孫はゴメル、マゴグ、マダイ、ヤワン、トバル、メセク、テラスであった。 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3 ゴメルの子孫はアシケナズ、リパテ、トガルマ。 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 ヤワンの子孫はエリシャ、タルシシ、キッテム、ドダニムであった。 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5 これらから海沿いの地の国民が分れて、おのおのその土地におり、その言語にしたがい、その氏族にしたがって、その国々に住んだ。 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6 ハムの子孫はクシ、ミツライム、プテ、カナンであった。 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.
7 クシの子孫はセバ、ハビラ、サブタ、ラアマ、サブテカであり、ラアマの子孫はシバとデダンであった。 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.
8 クシの子はニムロデであって、このニムロデは世の権力者となった最初の人である。 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9 彼は主の前に力ある狩猟者であった。これから「主の前に力ある狩猟者ニムロデのごとし」ということわざが起った。 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
10 彼の国は最初シナルの地にあるバベル、エレク、アカデ、カルネであった。 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 彼はその地からアッスリヤに出て、ニネベ、レホボテイリ、カラ、 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the city Rehoboth, and Calah,
12 およびニネベとカラとの間にある大いなる町レセンを建てた。 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.
13 ミツライムからルデ族、アナミ族、レハビ族、ナフト族、 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14 パテロス族、カスル族、カフトリ族が出た。カフトリ族からペリシテ族が出た。 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and Caphtorim.
15 カナンからその長子シドンが出て、またヘテが出た。 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
16 その他エブスびと、アモリびと、ギルガシびと、 And the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite,
17 ヒビびと、アルキびと、セニびと、 And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
18 アルワデびと、ゼマリびと、ハマテびとが出た。後になってカナンびとの氏族がひろがった。 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread abroad.
19 カナンびとの境はシドンからゲラルを経てガザに至り、ソドム、ゴモラ、アデマ、ゼボイムを経て、レシャに及んだ。 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and Zeboim, even unto Lasha.
20 これらはハムの子孫であって、その氏族とその言語とにしたがって、その土地と、その国々にいた。 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.
21 セムにも子が生れた。セムはエベルのすべての子孫の先祖であって、ヤペテの兄であった。 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.
22 セムの子孫はエラム、アシュル、アルパクサデ、ルデ、アラムであった。 The children of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 アラムの子孫はウヅ、ホル、ゲテル、マシであった。 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24 アルパクサデの子はシラ、シラの子はエベルである。 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.
25 エベルにふたりの子が生れた。そのひとりの名をペレグといった。これは彼の代に地の民が分れたからである。その弟の名をヨクタンといった。 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother’s name was Joktan.
26 ヨクタンにアルモダデ、シャレフ、ハザルマウテ、エラ、 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
27 ハドラム、ウザル、デクラ、 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
28 オバル、アビマエル、シバ、 And Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
29 オフル、ハビラ、ヨバブが生れた。これらは皆ヨクタンの子であった。 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were the sons of Joktan.
30 彼らが住んだ所はメシャから東の山地セパルに及んだ。 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a mount of the east.
31 これらはセムの子孫であって、その氏族とその言語とにしたがって、その土地と、その国々にいた。 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
32 これらはノアの子らの氏族であって、血統にしたがって国々に住んでいたが、洪水の後、これらから地上の諸国民が分れたのである。 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
