1 なにゆえ、もろもろの国びとは騒ぎたち、もろもろの民はむなしい事をたくらむのか。 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 地のもろもろの王は立ち構え、もろもろのつかさはともに、はかり、主とその油そそがれた者とに逆らって言う、 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying,
3 「われらは彼らのかせをこわし、彼らのきずなを解き捨てるであろう」と。 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 天に座する者は笑い、主は彼らをあざけられるであろう。 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
5 そして主は憤りをもって彼らに語り、激しい怒りをもって彼らを恐れ惑わせて言われる、 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.
6 「わたしはわが王を聖なる山シオンに立てた」と。 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.
7 わたしは主の詔をのべよう。主はわたしに言われた、「おまえはわたしの子だ。きょう、わたしはおまえを生んだ。 I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
8 わたしに求めよ、わたしはもろもろの国を嗣業としておまえに与え、地のはてまでもおまえの所有として与える。 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
9 おまえは鉄のつえをもって彼らを打ち破り、陶工の作る器物のように彼らを打ち砕くであろう」と。 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
10 それゆえ、もろもろの王よ、賢くあれ、地のつかさらよ、戒めをうけよ。 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
11 恐れをもって主に仕え、おののきをもって Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12 その足に口づけせよ。さもないと主は怒って、あなたがたを道で滅ぼされるであろう、その憤りがすみやかに燃えるからである。すべて主に寄り頼む者はさいわいである。 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
