| 2 | いつまで、わたしは魂に痛みを負い、ひねもす心に悲しみをいだかなければならないのですか。いつまで敵はわたしの上にあがめられるのですか。 | How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? |
| 3 | わが神、主よ、みそなわして、わたしに答え、わたしの目を明らかにしてください。さもないと、わたしは死の眠りに陥り、 | Consider and hear me, O Lord my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; |
| 4 | わたしの敵は「わたしは敵に勝った」と言い、わたしのあだは、わたしの動かされることによって喜ぶでしょう。 | Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. |
| 5 | しかしわたしはあなたのいつくしみに信頼し、わたしの心はあなたの救を喜びます。 | But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. |
| 6 | 主は豊かにわたしをあしらわれたゆえ、わたしは主にむかって歌います。 | I will sing unto the Lord, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. |
