| 2 | 彼らはわたしの若い時から、ひどくわたしを悩ました。しかしわたしに勝つことができなかった。 | Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me. |
| 3 | 耕す者はわたしの背の上をたがやして、そのうねみぞを長くした」と。 | The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows. |
| 4 | 主は正しくいらせられ、悪しき者のなわを断ち切られた。 | The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked. |
| 5 | シオンを憎む者はみな、恥を得て、退くように。 | Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion. |
| 6 | 彼らを、育たないさきに枯れる屋根の草のようにしてください。 | Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up: |
| 7 | これを刈る者はその手に満たず、これをたばねる者はそのふところに満たない。 | Wherewith the mower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom. |
| 8 | かたわらを過ぎる者は、「主の恵みがあなたの上にあるように。われらは主のみ名によってあなたがたを祝福する」と言わない。 | Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord. |
