| 1 | わたしは主に寄り頼む。なにゆえ、あなたがたはわたしにむかって言うのか、「鳥のように山にのがれよ。 | In the Lord put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? |
| 2 | 見よ、悪しき者は、暗やみで、心の直き者を射ようと弓を張り、弦に矢をつがえている。 | For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. |
| 3 | 基が取りこわされるならば、正しい者は何をなし得ようか」と。 | If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? |
| 4 | 主はその聖なる宮にいまし、主のみくらは天にあり、その目は人の子らをみそなわし、そのまぶたは人の子らを調べられる。 | The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord’s throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. |
| 5 | 主は正しき者をも、悪しき者をも調べ、そのみ心は乱暴を好む者を憎まれる。 | The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. |
| 6 | 主は悪しき者の上に炭火と硫黄とを降らせられる。燃える風は彼らがその杯にうくべきものである。 | Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. |
| 7 | 主は正しくいまして、正しい事を愛されるからである。直き者は主のみ顔を仰ぎ見るであろう。 | For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright. |
