| 1 | 主人たる者よ、僕を正しく公平に扱いなさい。あなたがたにも主が天にいますことが、わかっているのだから。 | Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. |
| 2 | 目をさまして、感謝のうちに祈り、ひたすら祈り続けなさい。 | Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; |
| 3 | 同時にわたしたちのためにも、神が御言のために門を開いて下さって、わたしたちがキリストの奥義を語れるように（わたしは、実は、そのために獄につながれているのである）、 | Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: |
| 4 | また、わたしが語るべきことをはっきりと語れるように、祈ってほしい。 | That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak. |
| 5 | 今の時を生かして用い、そとの人に対して賢く行動しなさい。 | Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. |
| 6 | いつも、塩で味つけられた、やさしい言葉を使いなさい。そうすれば、ひとりびとりに対してどう答えるべきか、わかるであろう。 | Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. |
| 7 | わたしの様子については、主にあって共に僕であり、また忠実に仕えている愛する兄弟テキコが、あなたがたにいっさいのことを報告するであろう。 | All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellowservant in the Lord: |
| 8 | わたしが彼をあなたがたのもとに送るのは、わたしたちの様子を知り、また彼によって心に励ましを受けるためなのである。 | Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; |
| 9 | あなたがたのひとり、忠実な愛する兄弟オネシモをも、彼と共に送る。彼らはあなたがたに、こちらのいっさいの事情を知らせるであろう。 | With Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. |

| 16 | この手紙があなたがたの所で朗読されたら、ラオデキヤの教会でも朗読されるように、取り計らってほしい。またラオデキヤからまわって来る手紙を、あなたがたも朗読してほしい。 | And when this epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. |
| 17 | アルキポに、「主にあって受けた務をよく果すように」と伝えてほしい。 | And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it. |
