1 「あなた方の心を騒がせてはいけない。神を信じ，わたしをも信じなさい。 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 わたしの父の家にはたくさんの住みかがある。そうでなかったなら，わたしはあなた方に告げただろう。わたしはあなた方のために場所を用意しに行こうとしている。 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 わたしは，行ってあなた方のために場所を用意したら，また来て，あなた方をわたしのところに迎える。わたしのいる所，そこにあなた方もいるようになるためだ。 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 わたしの行く所をあなた方は知っており，その道も知っている」 。 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 トマスがイエスに言った，「主よ，わたしたちはあなたがどこへ行こうとしておられるのか知りません。わたしたちはどうしてその道を知ることができるでしょう」。 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 イエスは彼に言った，「わたしは道，真理，命だ。わたしを通してでなければ，だれも父のもとに来ることはない。 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 あなた方は，わたしを知っていたなら，父をも知っていただろう。今から，あなた方はその方を知っており，その方を見ている」 。 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 フィリポがイエスに言った，「主よ，わたしたちに父をお示しください。わたしたちにとってはそれで十分です」。 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 イエスは彼に言った，「こんなに長い間，わたしはあなた方と共にいたのに，フィリポ，あなたはわたしを知っていないのか。わたしを見た者は父を見たのだ。どうしてあなたは，『父を示してください』と言うのか。 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 わたしが父のうちにおり，父がわたしのうちにおられることをあなたは信じないのか。わたしがあなた方に告げる言葉は，わたしが自分から話すのではない。わたしのうちに住まわれる父がご自分の業を行なっておられるのだ。 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 わたしが父のうちにおり，父がわたしのうちにおられるというわたしの言葉を信じなさい。そうでなければ，業そのもののために信じなさい。 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 本当にはっきりとあなた方に言う。わたしを信じる者は，わたしの行なう業をも行なうだろう。しかも，それより大きな業を行なうだろう。わたしは父のもとへ行こうとしているからだ。 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
13 あなた方がわたしの名において求めることは何でも，わたしはそれを行なう。父が子において栄光をお受けになるためだ。 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 あなた方がわたしの名において何かを求めるなら，わたしはそれを行なう。 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 あなた方がわたしを愛しているなら，わたしのおきてを守りなさい。 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 わたしは父にお願いし，父はほかの助言者を与えて，彼が永遠にあなた方と共にいるようにくださる。 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 これは真理の霊であり，世は彼を見ることも知ることもないので，受け入れることができない。あなた方は彼を知っている。彼があなた方と共に住んでおり，あなた方のうちにいることになるからだ。 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 わたしはあなた方を孤児にしてはおかない。わたしはあなた方のところに来る。 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19 もうしばらくすると，世はもはやわたしを見ないだろう。だが，あなた方はわたしを見る。わたしは生きているので，あなた方も生きる。 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20 その日には，わたしが自分の父のうちにおり，あなた方がわたしのうちにおり，わたしがあなた方のうちにいることを，あなた方は知るだろう。 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 わたしのおきてを持ってそれを守る者，その人はわたしを愛している者だ。わたしを愛している者はわたしの父に愛されるだろう。そして，わたしは彼を愛し，彼に自分を示すだろう」 。 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 （イスカリオトでない）ユダがイエスに言った，「主よ，わたしたちにご自分を示そうとしておられるのに，世にはそうしようとされないとは，何が起きているのですか」。 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
23 イエスは彼に言った，「人がわたしを愛しているなら，彼はわたしの言葉を守る。わたしの父はわたしを愛され，わたしたちはその方のもとに行き，その方と共に住むだろう。 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
24 わたしを愛していない者は，わたしの言葉を守らない。あなた方が聞いている言葉はわたしのものではなく，わたしを遣わされた父のものだ。 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
25 わたしは，まだあなた方と共に住んでいる間に，これらの事をあなた方に言ってきた。 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 しかし助言者，すなわち父がわたしの名において遣わされる聖霊は，あなた方にすべての事を教え，わたしがあなた方に話したことすべてを思い出させるだろう。 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 わたしは平和をあなた方に残し，わたしの平和をあなた方に与える。わたしはあなた方に，世が与えるのと同じようにして与えるのではない。あなた方の心を騒がせたり，恐れたりしてはいけない。 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
28 あなた方は，『わたしは去って行くが，あなた方のところに戻って来る』と，わたしが告げたのを聞いた。あなた方は，わたしを愛しているなら，『わたしは父のもとに行こうとしている』とわたしが言ったことで喜ぶはずだ。父はわたしより偉大だからだ。 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
29 今わたしは，それが起きる前にあなた方に告げてきた。それが起きる時にあなた方が信じるためだ。 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
30 わたしはもう，あなた方と多くは話さないだろう。世の支配者がやって来るからだ。彼はわたしのうちに何も持っていない。 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
31 しかし，わたしが父を愛していることを世が知るために，父がわたしに命じられたそのとおりにわたしは行なう。立ちなさい。ここから出て行こう。 But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
