| 1 | 「裁いてはいけない。裁かれないためだ。 | Judge not, that ye be not judged. |
| 2 | あなた方が裁くその裁きで，あなた方が裁かれることになるからだ。そして，あなた方が量るそのはかりで，あなた方に量られるだろう。 | For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. |
| 3 | なぜあなたは，兄弟の目の中にあるちりは見えるのに，自分の目の中にある丸太のことを考えないのか。 | And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? |
| 4 | また，どうして兄弟に『あなたの目からそのちりを取らせてくれ』と言えるのか。見よ，自分の目の中には丸太があるのだ。 | Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? |
| 5 | 偽善者よ！ まず自分の目から丸太を取り出しなさい。そうすればあなたは，はっきりと見えて，兄弟の目からちりを取り出すことができるだろう。 | Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. |
| 6 | 「聖なるものを犬たちに与えたり，あなた方の真珠を豚たちに与えたりしてはいけない。彼らがそれらを足の下で踏みつけ，向き直ってあなた方を引き裂くことのないためだ。 | Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. |
| 7 | 「求めなさい，そうすれば与えられるだろう。探しなさい，そうすれば見いだすだろう。たたきなさい，そうすれば開かれるだろう。 | Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: |
| 8 | だれでも求めている者は受け，探している者は見いだし，たたいている者には開かれるのだ。 | For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. |
| 9 | あるいは，あなた方のうちのだれが，自分の息子がパンを求めているのに石を与えるだろうか。 | Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? |
| 10 | また，魚を求めているのにだれが蛇を与えるだろうか。 | Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? |
| 11 | それなら，あなた方が，悪い者でありながら，自分の子供たちに良い贈り物を与えることを知っているのであれば，まして天におられるあなた方の父は，ご自分に求める者たちにどれほど良いものを与えてくださるだろう！ | If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? |
| 12 | だから，あなた方が人々からして欲しいと思うことは何でも，人々にも同じようにしなさい。これこそ律法と預言者たちだからだ。 | Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. |
| 13 | 「狭い門を通って入りなさい。滅びに至る門は広く，その道は広々としており，そこを通って入る者は多いからだ。 | Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: |
| 14 | 命に至る門はなんと狭く，その道はなんと狭められていることか！ それを見いだす者は少ない。 | Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. |
| 15 | 「偽預言者たちに用心しなさい。彼らは羊の皮をつけてあなた方のところへやって来るが，内側はむさぼり食うオオカミだ。 | Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. |
| 16 | あなた方はその実によって彼らを見分けるだろう。あなた方はイバラからブドウを，またはアザミからイチジクを集めるだろうか。 | Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? |
| 17 | このように，良い木はみな良い実を生み出すが，腐った木は悪い実を生み出す。 | Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. |
| 18 | 良い木が悪い実を生み出すことも，腐った木が良い実を生み出すこともできない。 | A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. |
| 19 | 良い実を育てない木はみな切り倒されて火の中に投げ込まれる。 | Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. |
| 20 | だから，あなた方はその実によって彼らを見分けるだろう。 | Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. |
| 21 | わたしに向かって，『主よ，主よ』と言う者がみな天の王国に入るのではなく，天におられるわたしの父のご意志を行なう者が入るのだ。 | Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. |
| 22 | その日には，多くの者がわたしに向かって，『主よ，主よ，わたしたちはあなたの名において預言し，あなたの名において悪霊たちを追い出し，あなたの名において多くの強力な業を行なったではありませんか』と言うだろう。 | Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? |
| 23 | その時，わたしは彼らに告げる，『わたしは少しもあなた方を知らない。不法を働く者たちよ，わたしから離れ去れ』と。 | And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. |
| 24 | 「だから，わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いてそれを行なうすべての者を，わたしは岩の上に自分の家を建てた賢い人にたとえよう。 | Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: |
| 25 | 雨が降り，洪水が押し寄せ，風が吹いてその家に打ちつけても，それは倒れなかった。岩の上に土台を据えていたからだ。 | And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. |
| 26 | わたしのこれらの言葉を聞いてもそれを行なわないすべての者は，砂の上に自分の家を建てた愚かな人に似ている。 | And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: |
| 27 | 雨が降り，洪水が押し寄せ，風が吹いてその家に打ちつけると，それは倒れた。そして，その倒壊はひどいものだった」 。 | And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. |
| 28 | イエスがこれらの事を話し終えると，群衆は彼の教えに驚いていた。 | And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: |
| 29 | 律法学者たちのようにではなく，権威をもって彼らを教えたからである。 | For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. |
