| 1 | ソロモンの箴言 智慧ある子は父を欣ばす 愚なる子は母の憂なり | The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. |
| 2 | 不義の財は益なし されど正義は救ひて死を脱かれしむ | Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. |
| 3 | ヱホバは義者の霊魂を餓ゑしめず 惡者にその欲するところを得ざらしむ | The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. |
| 4 | 手をものうくして動くものは貧くなり 勤めはたらく者の手は富を得 | He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. |
| 5 | 夏のうちに斂むる者は智き子なり 収穫の時にねむる者は辱をきたす子なり | He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. |
| 6 | 義者の首には福祉きたり 惡者の口は強暴を掩ふ | Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. |
| 7 | 義者の名は讃られ 惡者の名は腐る | The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. |
| 8 | 心の智き者は誡命を受く されど口の頑愚なる者は滅さる | The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. |
| 9 | 直くあゆむ者はそのあゆむこと安し されどその途を曲ぐる者は知らるべし | He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known. |
| 10 | 眼をもて眴せする者は憂をおこし 口の頑愚なる者は亡さる | He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall. |
| 11 | 義者の口は生命の泉なり 惡者の口は強暴を掩ふ | The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. |
| 12 | 怨恨は爭端をおこし 愛はすべての愆を掩ふ | Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. |
| 13 | 哲者のくちびるには智慧あり 智慧なき者の背のためには鞭あり | In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. |
| 14 | 智慧ある者は知識をたくはふ 愚かなる者の口はいまにも滅亡をきたらす | Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. |
| 15 | 富者の資財はその堅き城なり 貧者のともしきはそのほろびなり | The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty. |
| 16 | 義者が動作は生命にいたり 惡者の利得は罪にいたる | The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin. |
| 17 | 敎をまもる者は生命の道にあり懲戒をすつる者はあやまりにおちいる | He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth. |
| 18 | 怨をかくす者には虚偽のくちびるあり 誹謗をいだす者は愚かなる者なり | He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. |
| 19 | 言おほけれぼ罪なきことあたはず その口唇を禁むるものは智慧あり | In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. |
| 20 | 義者の舌は精銀のごとし 惡者の心は値すくなし | The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. |
| 21 | 義者の口唇はおほくの人をやしなひ 愚なる者は智慧なきに由て死ぬ | The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. |
| 22 | ヱホバの祝福は人を富す 人の勞苦はこれに加ふるところなし | The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. |
| 23 | 愚かなる者は惡をなすを戯れごとのごとくす 智慧のさとかる人にとりても是のごとし | It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom. |
| 24 | 惡者の怖るるところは自己にきたり 義者のねがふところはあたへらる | The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. |
| 25 | 狂風のすぐるとき惡者は無に歸せん 義者は窮なくたもつ基のごとし | As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. |
| 26 | 惰る者のこれを遣すものに於るは酢の歯に於るが如く煙の目に於るが如し | As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. |
| 27 | ヱホバを畏るることは人の日を多くす されど惡者の年はちぢめらる | The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. |
| 28 | 義者の望は喜悦にいたり惡者の望は絶べし | The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. |
| 29 | ヱホバの途は直者の城となり 惡を行ふものの滅亡となる | The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. |
| 30 | 義者は何時までも動かされず 惡者は地に住むことを得じ | The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. |
| 31 | 義者の口は智慧をいだすなり 虚偽の舌は抜るべし | The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out. |
| 32 | 義者のくちびるは喜ばるべきことをわきまへ 惡者の口はいつはりを語る | The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness. |
