| 1 | 『なんぢら心を騷がすな、神を信じ、また我を信ぜよ。 | Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. |
| 2 | わが父の家には住處おほし、然らずば我かねて汝らに告げしならん。われ汝 等のために處を備へに往く。 | In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. |
| 3 | もし往きて汝らの爲に處を備へば、復きたりて汝らを我がもとに迎へん、わが居るところに汝らも居らん爲なり。 | And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. |
| 4 | 汝らは我が往くところに至る道を知る』 | And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. |
| 5 | トマス言ふ『主よ、何處にゆき給ふかを知らず、いかでその道を知らんや』 | Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? |
| 6 | イエス彼に言ひ給ふ『われは道なり、眞理なり、生命なり、我に由らでは誰にても父の御許にいたる者なし。 | Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. |
| 7 | 汝 等もし我を知りたらば、我が父をも知りしならん。今より汝ら之を知る、既に之を見たり』 | If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. |
| 8 | ピリポ言ふ『主よ、父を我らに示し給へ、さらば足れり』 | Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. |
| 9 | イエス言ひ給ふ『ピリポ、我かく久しく汝らと偕に居りしに、我を知らぬか。我を見し者は父を見しなり、如何なれば「我らに父を示せ」と言ふか。 | Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? |
| 10 | 我の父に居り、父の我に居給ふことを信ぜぬか。わが汝 等にいふ言は、己によりて語るにあらず、父われに在して御業をおこなひ給ふなり。 | Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. |
| 11 | わが言ふことを信ぜよ、我は父にをり、父は我に居給ふなり。もし信ぜずば、我が業によりて信ぜよ。 | Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake. |
| 12 | 誠にまことに汝らに告ぐ、我を信ずる者は我がなす業をなさん、かつ之よりも大なる業をなすべし、われ父に往けばなり。 | Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. |
| 13 | 汝らが我が名によりて願ふことは、我みな之を爲さん、父、子によりて榮光を受け給はんためなり。 | And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. |
| 14 | 何事にても我が名によりて我に願はば、我これを成すべし。 | If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. |
| 15 | 汝 等もし我を愛せば、我が誡命を守らん。 | If ye love me, keep my commandments. |
| 16 | われ父に請はん、父は他に助主をあたへて、永遠に汝らと偕に居らしめ給ふべし。 | And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; |
| 17 | これは眞理の御靈なり、世はこれを受くること能はず、これを見ず、また知らぬに因る。なんぢらは之を知る、彼は汝らと偕に居り、また汝らの中に居給ふべければなり。 | Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. |
| 18 | 我なんぢらを遣して孤兒とはせず、汝らに來るなり。 | I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. |
| 19 | 暫くせば世は復われを見ず、されど汝らは我を見る、われ活くれば汝らも活くべければなり。 | Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. |
| 20 | その日には、我わが父に居り、なんぢら我に居り、われ汝らに居ることを汝ら知らん。 | At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. |
| 21 | わが誡命を保ちて之を守るものは、即ち我を愛する者なり。我を愛する者は我が父に愛せられん、我も之を愛し、之に己を顯すべし』 | He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. |
| 22 | イスカリオテならぬユダ言ふ『主よ、何 故おのれを我らに顯して、世には顯し給はぬか』 | Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? |
| 23 | イエス答へて言ひ給ふ『人もし我を愛せば、わが言を守らん、わが父これを愛し、かつ我等その許に來りて住處を之とともにせん。 | Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. |
| 24 | 我を愛せぬ者は、わが言を守らず。汝らが聞くところの言は、わが言にあらず、我を遣し給ひし父の言なり。 | He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me. |
| 25 | 此 等のことは我なんぢらと偕にありて語りしが、 | These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. |
| 26 | 助主すなはちわが名によりて父の遣したまふ聖 靈は、汝らに萬の事ををしへ、又すべて我が汝らに言ひしことを思ひ出さしむべし。 | But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. |
| 27 | われ平安を汝らに遺す、わが平安を汝らに與ふ。わが與ふるは世の與ふる如くならず、なんぢら心を騷がすな、また懼るな。 | Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. |
| 28 | 「われ往きて汝らに來るなり」と云ひしを汝ら既に聞けり。もし我を愛せば、父にわが往くを喜ぶべきなり、父は我よりも大なるに因る。 | Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. |
| 29 | 今その事の成らぬ前に、これを汝らに告げたり、事の成らんとき汝らの信ぜんためなり。 | And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. |
| 30 | 今より後われ汝らと多く語らじ、この世の君きたる故なり。彼は我に對して何の權もなし、 | Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. |
| 31 | されど斯くなるは、我の、父を愛し、父の命じ給ふところに遵ひて行ふことを、世の知らん爲なり。起きよ、いざ此處を去るべし。 | But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. |
