1 この後、われ四人の御使の地の四隅に立つを見たり、彼らは地の四方の風を引止めて、地にも海にも諸種の樹にも風を吹かせざりき。 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
2 また他の一人の御使の、活ける神の印を持ちて日の出づる方より登るを見たり、かれ地と海とを害ふ權を與へられたる四人の御使にむかひ、大聲に呼はりて言ふ、 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3 『われらが我らの神の僕の額に印するまでは、地をも海をも樹をも害ふな』 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
4 われ印せられたる者の數を聽きしに、イスラエルの子 等のもろもろの族の中にて印せられたるもの合せて十四萬 四千あり。 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 ユダの族の中にて一萬 二千 印せられ、ルベンの族の中にて一萬 二千、ガドの族の中にて一萬 二千、 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 アセルの族の中にて一萬 二千、ナフタリの族の中にて一萬 二千、マナセの族の中にて一萬 二千、 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 シメオンの族の中にて一萬 二千、レビの族の中にて一萬 二千、イサカルの族の中にて一萬 二千、 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 ゼブルンの族の中にて一萬 二千、ヨセフの族の中にて一萬 二千、ベニヤミンの族の中にて一萬 二千 印せられたり。 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9 この後われ見しに、視よ、もろもろの國・族・民・國語の中より、誰も數へつくすこと能はぬ大なる群衆、しろき衣を纏ひて手に棕梠の葉をもち、御座と羔羊との前に立ち、 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 大聲に呼はりて言ふ『救は御座に坐したまふ我らの神と羔羊とにこそ在れ』 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 御使みな御座および長老たちと四つの活物との周圍に立ちて、御座の前に平伏し神を拜して言ふ、 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 『アァメン、讃美・榮光・知慧・感謝・尊貴・能力・勢威、世々 限りなく我らの神にあれ、アァメン』 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 長老たちの一人われに向ひて言ふ『この白き衣を著たるは如何なる者にして何處より來りしか』 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 我いふ『わが主よ、なんぢ知れり』かれ言ふ『かれらは大なる患難より出できたり、羔羊の血に己が衣を洗ひて白くしたる者なり。 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 この故に神の御座の前にありて、晝も夜もその聖所にて神に事ふ。御座に坐したまふ者は彼らの上に幕屋を張り給ふべし。 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16 彼らは重ねて飢ゑず、重ねて渇かず、日も熱も彼らを侵すことなし。 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 御座の前にいます羔羊は、彼らを牧して生命の水の泉にみちびき、神は彼らの目より凡ての涙を拭ひ給ふべければなり』 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
