| 2 | 願はくは我らの父なる神および主イエス・キリストより賜ふ恩惠と平安と汝らに在らんことを。 | Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 3 | 讃むべきかな、我らの主イエス・キリストの父なる神、かれはキリストに由りて靈のもろもろの祝福をもて天の處にて我らを祝し、 | Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: |
| 4 | 御前にて潔く瑕なからしめん爲に、世の創の前より我等をキリストの中に選び、 | According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: |
| 5 | 御意のままにイエス・キリストに由り愛をもて己が子となさんことを定め給へり。 | Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, |
| 6 | 是その愛しみ給ふ者によりて我らに賜ひたる恩惠の榮光に譽あらん爲なり。 | To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. |
| 7 | 我らは彼にありて恩惠の富に隨ひ、その血に頼りて贖罪、すなはち罪の赦を得たり。 | In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; |
| 8 | 神は我らに諸般の知慧と聰明とを與へてその恩惠を充しめ、 | Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; |
| 9 | 御意の奧義を御意のままに示し給へり。 | Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: |
| 10 | 即ち時 滿ちて經綸にしたがひ、天に在るもの地にあるものを、悉とくキリストに在りて一つに歸せしめ給ふ。これ自ら定め給ひし所なり。 | That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: |
| 11 | 我らは、凡ての事を御意の思慮のままに行ひたまふ者の御旨によりて預じめ定められ、キリストに在りて神の産業とせられたり。 | In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: |
| 12 | これ夙くよりキリストに希望を置きし我らが、神の榮光の譽とならん爲なり。 | That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. |
| 13 | 汝 等もキリストに在りて、眞の言すなはち汝らの救の福音をきき、彼を信じて約束の聖 靈にて印せられたり。 | In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, |
| 14 | これは我らが受くべき嗣業の保證にして、神に屬けるものの贖はれ、かつ神の榮光に譽あらん爲なり。 | Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. |
| 15 | この故に我も汝らが主イエスに對する信仰と凡ての聖徒に對する愛とを聞きて、 | Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, |
| 16 | 絶えず汝らのために感謝し、わが祈のうちに汝らを憶え、 | Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; |
| 17 | 我らの主イエス・キリストの神、榮光の父、なんぢらに智慧と默示との靈を與へて、神を知らしめ、 | That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: |
| 18 | 汝らの心の眼を明かにし、神の召にかかはる望と、聖徒にある神の嗣業の榮光の富と、 | The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, |
| 19 | 神の大能の勢威の活動によりて信ずる我らに對する能力の極めて大なるとを知らしめ給はんことを願ふ。 | And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, |
| 20 | 神はその大能をキリストのうちに働かせて、之を死人の中より甦へらせ、天の所にて己の右に坐せしめ、 | Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, |
| 21 | もろもろの政治・權威・能力・支配、また啻に此の世のみならず、來らんとする世にも稱ふる凡ての名の上に置き、 | Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: |
| 22 | 萬の物をその足の下に服はせ、彼を萬の物の上に首として教會に與へ給へり。 | And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, |
| 23 | この教會は彼の體にして、萬の物をもて萬の物に滿し給ふ者の滿つる所なり。 | Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. |
