| 1 | わが心はうるはしき事にてあふる われは王のために詠たるものをいひいでん わが舌はすみやけく寫字人の筆なり | My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. |
| 2 | なんぢは人の子輩にまさりて美しく文雅そのくちびるにそそがる このゆゑに神はとこしへに汝をさいはひしたまへり | Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever. |
| 3 | 英雄よなんぢその劍その榮その威をこしに佩べし | Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty. |
| 4 | なんぢ眞理と柔和とただしきとのために威をたくましくし勝をえて乗すすめ なんぢの右手なんぢに畏るべきことををしへん | And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things. |
| 5 | なんぢの矢は鋭して王のあたの胸をつらぬき もろもろの民はなんぢの下にたふる | Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee. |
| 6 | 神よなんぢの寳座はいやとほ永くなんぢの國のつゑは公平のつゑなり | Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. |
| 7 | なんぢは義をいつくしみ惡をにくむ このゆゑに神なんぢの神はよろこびの膏をなんぢの侶よりまさりて汝にそそぎたまへり | Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. |
| 8 | なんぢの衣はみな沒薬蘆薈肉桂のかをりあり 琴瑟の音ざうげの諸殿よりいでて汝をよろこばしめたり | All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. |
| 9 | なんぢがたふとき婦のなかにはもろもろの王のむすめあり 皇后はオフルの金をかざりてなんぢの右にたつ | Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir. |
| 10 | 女よきけ目をそそげ なんぢの耳をかたぶけよ なんぢの民となんぢが父の家とをわすれよ | Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; |
| 11 | さらば王はなんぢの美麗をしたはん 王はなんぢの主なりこれを伏拝め | So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. |
| 12 | ツロの女は贈物をもてきたり民間のとめるものも亦なんぢの惠をこひもとめん | And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour. |
| 13 | 王のむすめは殿のうちにていとど榮えかがやき そのころもは金をもて織なせり | The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold. |
| 14 | かれは鍼繍せる衣をきて王のもとにいざなはる 之にともなへる處女もそのあとにしたがひて汝のもとにみちびかれゆかん | She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee. |
| 15 | かれらは歓喜と快樂とをもていざなはれ斯して王の殿にいらん | With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace. |
| 16 | なんぢの子らは列祖にかはりてたち なんぢはこれを全地に君となさん | Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth. |
| 17 | 我なんぢの名をよろづ代にしらしめん この故にもろもろの民はいやとほ永くなんぢに感謝すべし | I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever. |
