1 ヱホバに感謝せよ ヱホバは惠ふかくましましてその憐憫かぎりなし O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.
2 ヱホバの救贖をかうぶる者はみな然いふべきなり Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
3 ヱホバは敵の手よりかれらを贖ひもろもろの地よ東西北南よりとりあつめたまへり And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.
4 かれら野にてあれはてたる路にさまよひその住ふべき邑にあはざりき They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 かれら饑また渇きそのうちの霊魂おとろへたり Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6 斯てその困苦のうちにてヱホバをよばはりたればヱホバこれを患難よりたすけいだし Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.
7 住ふべき邑にゆかしめんとて直き路にみちびきたまへり And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8 願くはすべての人はヱホバの惠により人の子になしたまへる奇しき事跡によりてヱホバを讃稱へんことを Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
9 ヱホバは渇きしたふ霊魂をたらはせ饑たるたましひを嘉物にてあかしめ給へばなり For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
10 くらきと死の蔭とに居るもの患難とくろがねとに縛しめらるるもの Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;
11 神の言にそむき至高者のをしへを蔑しめければ Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:
12 勤勞をもてその心をひくうしたまへり かれら仆れたれど助くるものもなかりき Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.
13 斯てその困苦のうちにてヱホバをよばはりたればヱホバこれを患難よりすくひ Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
14 くらきと死のかげより彼等をみちびき出してその械をこぼちたまへり He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.
15 願くはすべての人はヱホバの惠により人の子になしたまへる奇しき事跡によりてヱホバを讃稱へんことを Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
16 そはあかがねの門をこぼち くろがねの關木をたちきりたまへり For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
17 愚かなる者はおのが愆の道により己がよこしまによりて惱めり Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
18 かれらの霊魂はすべての食物をきらひて死の門にちかづく Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.
19 かくてその困苦のうちにてヱホバをよばふ ヱホバこれを患難よりすくひたまふ Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.
20 その聖言をつかはして之をいやし之をその滅亡よりたすけいだしたまふ He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
21 願くはすべての人ヱホバのめぐみにより人の子になしたまへる奇しき事跡によりてヱホバをほめたたへんことを Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
22 かれらは感謝のそなへものをささげ喜びうたひてその事跡をいひあらはすべし And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.
23 舟にて海にうかび大洋にて事をいとなむ者は They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
24 ヱホバのみわざを見また淵にてその奇しき事跡をみる These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
25 ヱホバ命じたまへばあらき風おこりてその浪をあぐ For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
26 かれら天にのぼりまた淵にくだり患難によりてその霊魂とけさり They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
27 左た右たにかたぶき酔たる者のごとく踉蹌てなす所をしらず They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.
28 かくてその困苦のうちにてヱホバをよばふ ヱホバこれを患難よりたづさへいで Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
29 狂風をしづめて浪をおだやかになし給へり He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
30 かれらはおのが靜かなるをよろこぶ 斯てヱホバはかれらをその望むところの湊にみちびきたまふ Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
31 願くはすべての人ヱホバの惠により人の子になしたまへる奇しき事跡によりてヱホバをほめたたへんことを Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
32 かれら民の會にてこれをあがめ長老の座にてこれを讃稱ふべし Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
33 ヱホバは河を野にかはらせ泉をかわける地に變らせ He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;
34 また豊かなる地にすめる民の惡によりてそこを鹵の地にかはらせ給ふ A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
35 野を池にかはらせ乾ける地をいづみにかはらせ He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.
36 ここに餓たるものを住はせたまふ されば彼らは己がすまひの邑をたて And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;
37 畠にたねをまき葡萄園をまうけてそのむすべる實をえたり And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
38 ヱホバはかれらの甚くふえひろごれるまでに惠をあたへ その牲畜のへることをも許したまはず He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
39 されどまた虐待くるしみ悲哀によりて減ゆき且うなたれたり Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
40 ヱホバもろもろの君に侮辱をそそぎ道なき荒地にさまよはせたまふ He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
41 然はあれど貧しきものを患難のうちより擧てその家族をひつじの群のごとくならしめたまふ Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
42 直きものは之をみて喜びもろもろの不義はその口をふさがん The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
43 すべて慧者はこれらのことに心をよせヱホバの憐憫をさとるべし Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.
