1 終に言はん、我が兄弟よ、なんぢら主に在りて喜べ。なんぢらに同じことを書きおくるは、我に煩はしきことなく、汝 等には安然なり。 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe.
2 なんぢら犬に心せよ、惡しき勞動人に心せよ、肉の割禮ある者に心せよ。 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
3 神の御靈によりて禮拜をなし、キリスト・イエスによりて誇り、肉を恃まぬ我らは眞の割禮ある者なり。 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
4 されど我は肉にも恃むことを得るなり。もし他の人、肉に恃むところありと思はば、我は更に恃む所あり。 Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more:
5 我は八日めに割禮を受けたる者にして、イスラエルの血統、ベニヤミンの族、ヘブル人より出でたるヘブル人なり。律法に就きてはパリサイ人、 Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;
6 熱心につきては教會を迫害したるもの、律法によれる義に就きては責むべき所なかりし者なり。 Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
7 されど曩に我が益たりし事はキリストのために損と思ふに至れり。 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
8 然り、我はわが主キリスト・イエスを知ることの優れたるために、凡ての物を損なりと思ひ、彼のために既に凡ての物を損せしが、之を塵芥のごとく思ふ。 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 これキリストを獲、かつ律法による己が義ならで、唯キリストを信ずる信仰による義、すなはち信仰に基きて神より賜はる義を保ち、キリストに在るを認められ、 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 キリストとその復活の力とを知り、又その死に效ひて彼の苦難にあづかり、 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
11 如何にもして死人の中より甦へることを得んが爲なり。 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
12 われ既に取れり、既に全うせられたりと言ふにあらず、唯これを捉へんとて追ひ求む。キリストは之を得させんとて我を捉へたまへり。 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
13 兄弟よ、われは既に捉へたりと思はず、唯この一事を務む、即ち後のものを忘れ、前のものに向ひて勵み、 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 標準を指して進み、神のキリスト・イエスに由りて上に召したまふ召にかかはる褒美を得んとて之を追ひ求む。 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 されば我等のうち成人したる者は、みな斯くのごとき思を懷くべし、汝 等もし何事にても異なる思を懷き居らば、神これをも示し給はん。 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
16 ただ我等はその至れる所に隨ひて歩むべし。 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
17 兄弟よ、なんぢら諸共に我に效ふものとなれ、且なんぢらの模範となる我らに循ひて歩むものを視よ。 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
18 そは我しばしば汝らに告げ、今また涙を流して告ぐる如く、キリストの十字架に敵して歩む者おほければなり。 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
19 彼らの終は滅亡なり。おのが腹を神となし、己が恥を光榮となし、ただ地の事のみを念ふ。 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
20 されど我らの國籍は天に在り、我らは主イエス・キリストの救主として其の處より來りたまふを待つ。 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
21 彼は萬物を己に服はせ得る能力によりて、我らの卑しき状の體を化へて、己が榮光の體に象らせ給はん。 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
