| 1 | 請ふ汝らヱホバの宣まふところを聽け 汝起あがりて山の前に辨爭へ 崗に汝の聲を聽しめよ | Hear ye now what the Lord saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. |
| 2 | 山々よ地の易ることなき基よ 汝らヱホバの辨爭を聽け ヱホバその民と辨爭を爲しイスラエルと論ぜん | Hear ye, O mountains, the Lord’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel. |
| 3 | 我民よ我何を汝になししや 何において汝を疲勞たるや 我にむかひて證せよ | O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me. |
| 4 | 我はエジプトの國より汝を導きのぼり奴隸の家より汝を贖ひいだしモーセ、アロンおよびミリアムを遣して汝に先だたしめたり | For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. |
| 5 | 我民よ請ふモアブの王バラクが謀りし事およびベオルの子バラムがこれに應へし事を念ひシツテムよりギルガルにいたるまでの事等を念へ 然らば汝ヱホバの正義を知ん | O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the Lord. |
| 6 | 我ヱホバの前に何をもちゆきて高き神を拜せん 燔祭の物および當歳の犢をもてその御前にいたるべきか | Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? |
| 7 | ヱホバ數千の牡羊萬流の油を悦びたまはんか 我愆のためにわが長子を獻げんか 我靈魂の罪のために我身の產を獻げんか | Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? |
| 8 | 人よ彼さきに善事の何なるを汝に告たり ヱホバの汝に要めたまふ事は唯正義を行ひ憐憫を愛し謙遜りて汝の神とともに歩む事ならずや | He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? |
| 9 | ヱホバの聲邑にむかひて呼はる 智慧ある者はなんぢの名を仰がん 汝ら笞杖および之をおくらんと定めし者に聽け | The Lord’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. |
| 10 | 惡人の家に猶惡財ありや 詛ふべき縮小たる升ありや | Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? |
| 11 | 我もし正からざる權衡を用ひ袋に僞の碼子をいれおかば爭で潔からんや | Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? |
| 12 | その富る人は強暴にて充ち其居民は謊言を言ひその舌は口の中にて欺くことを爲す | For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth. |
| 13 | 是をもて我も汝を撃て重傷を負はせ汝の罪のために汝を滅す | Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins. |
| 14 | 汝は食ふとも飽ず腹はつねに空ならん 汝は移すともつひに拯ふことを得じ 汝が拯ひし者は我これを劍に付すべし | Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword. |
| 15 | 汝は種播とも刈ることあらず 橄欖を踐ともその油を身に抹ることあらず 葡萄を踐ともその酒を飮ことあらじ | Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine. |
| 16 | 汝らはオムリの法度を守りアハブの家の一切の行爲を行ひて彼等の謀計に遵ふ 是は我をして汝を荒さしめ且その居民を胡盧となさしめんが爲なり 汝らはわが民の恥辱を任べし | For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. |
