1 イエスこれらの言をみな語りをへて、弟子たちに言ひ給ふ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,
2 『なんぢらの知るごとく、二日の後は過越の祭なり、人の子は十字架につけられん爲に賣らるべし』 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.
3 そのとき祭司長・民の長老ら、カヤパといふ大 祭司の中庭に集り、 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,
4 詭計をもてイエスを捕へ、かつ殺さんと相 議りたれど、 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
5 又いふ『まつりの間は爲すべからず、恐らくは民の中に亂 起らん』 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
6 イエス、ベタニヤにて癩病人シモンの家に居給ふ時、 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 ある女、石膏の壺に入りたる貴き香 油を持ちて、近づき來り、食事の席に就き居給ふイエスの首に注げり。 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.
8 弟子たち之を見て憤ほり言ふ『何 故かく濫なる費をなすか。 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?
9 之を多くの金に賣りて、貧しき者に施すことを得たりしものを』 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.
10 イエス之を知りて言ひたまふ『何ぞこの女を惱すか、我に善き事をなせるなり。 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.
11 貧しき者は常に汝らと偕にをれど、我は常に偕に居らず。 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.
12 この女の我が體に香 油を注ぎしは、わが葬りの備をなせるなり。 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13 まことに汝らに告ぐ、全世界いずこにても、この福音の宣傅へらるる處には、この女のなしし事も記念として語らるべし』 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.
14 ここに十二 弟子の一人イスカリオテのユダといふ者、祭司長らの許にゆきて言ふ Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,
15 『なんぢらに彼を付さば、何ほど我に與へんとするか』彼ら銀 三十を量り出せり。 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
16 ユダこの時よりイエスを付さんと好き機を窺ふ。 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.
17 除酵祭の初の日、弟子たちイエスに來りて言ふ『過越の食をなし給ふために、何處に我らが備ふる事を望み給ふか』 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?
18 イエス言ひたまふ『都にゆき、某のもとに到りて「師いふ、わが時 近づけり。われ弟子たちと共に過越を汝の家にて守らん」と言へ』 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
19 弟子たちイエスの命じ給ひし如くして、過越の備をなせり。 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.
20 日 暮れて十二 弟子とともに席に就きて、 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.
21 食するとき言ひ給ふ『まことに汝らに告ぐ、汝らの中の一人われを賣らん』 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.
22 弟子たち甚く憂ひて、おのおの『主よ、我なるか』と言ひいでしに、 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?
23 答へて言ひたまふ『我とともに手を鉢に入るる者われを賣らん。 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
24 人の子は己に就きて録されたる如く逝くなり。されど人の子を賣る者は禍害なるかな、その人は生れざりし方よかりしものを』 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.
25 イエスを賣るユダ答へて言ふ『ラビ、我なるか』イエス言ひ給ふ『なんぢの言へる如し』 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.
26 彼ら食しをる時、イエス、パンをとり、祝してさき、弟子たちに與へて言ひ給ふ『取りて食へ、これは我が體なり』 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
27 また酒杯をとりて謝し、彼らに與へて言ひ給ふ『なんぢら皆この酒杯より飮め。 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
28 これは契約のわが血なり、多くの人のために、罪の赦を得させんとて流す所のものなり。 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
29 われ汝らに告ぐ、わが父の國にて新しきものを汝らと共に飮む日までは、われ今より後この葡萄の果より成るものを飮まじ』 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.
30 彼ら讃美を歌ひて後オリブ山に出でゆく。 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.
31 ここにイエス弟子たちに言ひ給ふ『今宵なんぢら皆われに就きて躓かん「われ牧羊者を打たん、さらば群の羊 散るべし」と録されたるなり。 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32 されど我よみがへりて後、なんぢらに先だちてガリラヤに往かん』 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 ペテロ答へて言ふ『假令みな汝に就きて躓くとも我はいつまでも躓かじ』 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
34 イエス言ひ給ふ『まことに汝に告ぐ、こよひ鷄 鳴く前に、なんぢ三たび我を否むべし』 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
35 ペテロ言ふ『我なんぢと共に死ぬべき事ありとも汝を否まず』弟子たち皆かく言へり。 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.
36 ここにイエス彼らと共にゲツセマネといふ處にいたりて、弟子たちに言ひ給ふ『わが彼處にゆきて祈る間、なんぢら此處に坐せよ』 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.
37 かくてペテロとゼベダイの子 二人とを伴ひゆき、憂ひ悲しみ出でて言ひ給ふ、 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
38 『わが心いたく憂ひて死ぬばかりなり。汝ら此處に止りて我と共に目を覺しをれ』 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.
39 少し進みゆきて、平伏し祈りて言ひ給ふ『わが父よ、もし得べくば此の酒杯を我より過ぎ去らせ給へ。されど我が意の儘にとにはあらず、御意のままに爲し給へ』 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 弟子たちの許にきたり、その眠れるを見てペテロに言ひ給ふ『なんぢら斯く一 時も我と共に目を覺し居ること能はぬか。 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 誘惑に陷らぬやう、目を覺しかつ祈れ。實に心は熱すれども肉體よわきなり』 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
42 また二度ゆき祈りて言ひ給ふ『わが父よ、この酒杯もし我 飮までは過ぎ去りがたくば、御意のままに成し給へ』 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
43 復きたりて彼らの眠れるを見たまふ、是その目 疲れたるなり。 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.
44 また離れゆきて、三たび同じ言にて祈り給ふ。 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.
45 而して弟子たちの許に來りて言ひ給ふ『今は眠りて休め。視よ、時 近づけり、人の子は罪人らの手に付さるるなり。 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
46 起きよ、我ら往くべし。視よ、我を賣るもの近づけり』 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 なほ語り給ふほどに、視よ、十二 弟子の一人なるユダ來る、祭司長・民の長老らより遣されたる大なる群衆、劍と棒とをもちて之に伴ふ。 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 イエスを賣る者あらかじめ合圖を示して言ふ『わが接吻する者はそれなり、之を捕へよ』 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 かくて直ちにイエスに近づき『ラビ、安かれ』といひて接吻したれば、 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 イエス言ひたまふ『友よ、何とて來る』このとき人々すすみてイエスに手をかけて捕ふ。 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
51 視よ、イエスと偕にありし者のひとり、手をのべ劍を拔きて、大 祭司の僕をうちて、その耳を切り落せり。 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.
52 ここにイエス彼に言ひ給ふ『なんぢの劍をもとに收めよ、すべて劍をとる者は劍にて亡ぶるなり。 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53 我わが父に請ひて、十二 軍に餘る御使を今あたへらるること能はずと思ふか。 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54 もし然せば、斯くあるべく録したる聖書はいかで成就すべき』 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
55 この時イエス群衆に言ひ給ふ『なんぢら強盜に向ふごとく劍と棒とをもち、我を捕へんとて出で來るか。我は日々 宮に坐して教へたりしに、汝ら我を捕へざりき。 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.
56 されどかくの如くなるは、みな預言者たちの書の成就せん爲なり』ここに弟子たち皆イエスを棄てて逃げさりぬ。 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.
57 イエスを捕へたる者ども、學者・長老らの集り居る大 祭司カヤパの許に曳きゆく。 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 ペテロ遠く離れ、イエスに從ひて大 祭司の中庭まで到り、その成行を見んとて、そこに入り下役どもと共に坐せり。 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.
59 祭司長らと全 議會と、イエスを死に定めんとて、いつはりの證據を求めたるに、 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 多くの僞證者いでたれども得ず。後に二人の者いでて言ふ But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 『この人は「われ神の宮を毀ち三日にて建て得べし」と云へり』 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
62 大 祭司たちてイエスに言ふ『この人々が汝に對して立つる證據に何をも答へぬか』 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?
63 されどイエス默し居給ひたれば、大 祭司いふ『われ汝に命ず、活ける神に誓ひて我らに告げよ、汝はキリスト、神の子なるか』 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
64 イエス言ひ給ふ『なんぢの言へる如し。かつ我なんぢらに告ぐ、今より後、なんぢら人の子の全能者の右に坐し、天の雲に乘りて來るを見ん』 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
65 ここに大 祭司おのが衣を裂きて言ふ『かれ瀆言をいへり、何ぞ他に證人を求めん。視よ、なんぢら今この瀆言をきけり。 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
66 いかに思ふか』答へて言ふ『かれは死に當れり』 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
67 ここに彼 等その御顏に唾し、拳にて搏ち、或 者どもは手掌にて批きて言ふ Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,
68 『キリストよ、我らに預言せよ、汝をうちし者は誰なるか』 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?
69 ペテロ外にて中庭に坐しゐたるに、一人の婢女きたりて言ふ『なんぢもガリラヤ人イエスと偕にゐたり』 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.
70 かれ凡ての人の前に肯はずして言ふ『われは汝の言ふことを知らず』 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71 かくて門まで出で往きたるとき、他の婢女かれを見て、其處にをる者どもに向ひて『この人はナザレ人イエスと偕にゐたり』と言へるに、 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 重ねて肯はず、契ひて『我はその人を知らず』といふ。 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 暫くして其處に立つ者ども近づきてペテロに言ふ『なんぢも慥にかの黨與なり、汝の國訛なんぢを表せり』 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74 ここにペテロ盟ひかつ契ひて『我その人を知らず』と言ひ出づるをりしも、鷄 鳴きぬ。 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.
75 ペテロ『にはとり鳴く前に、なんぢ三度われを否まん』と、イエスの言ひ給ひし御言を思ひだし、外に出でて甚く泣けり。 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
