1 そのとき弟子たちイエスに來りて言ふ『しからば天國にて大なるは誰か』 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 イエス幼兒を呼び、彼らの中に置きて言ひ給ふ And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 『まことに汝らに告ぐ、もし汝ら飜へりて幼兒の如くならずば、天國に入るを得じ。 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 されば誰にても此の幼兒のごとく己を卑うする者は、これ天國にて大なる者なり。 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
5 また我が名のために、かくのごとき一人の幼兒を受くる者は、我を受くるなり。 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
6 されど我を信ずる此の小き者の一人を躓かする者は、寧ろ大なる碾臼を頸に懸けられ、海の深處に沈められんかた益なり。 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
7 この世は躓物あるによりて禍害なるかな。躓物は必ず來らん、されど躓物を來らする人は禍害なるかな。 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
8 もし汝の手または足なんぢを躓かせば、切りて棄てよ。不具または蹇跛にて生命に入るは、兩手 兩足ありて永遠の火に投げ入れらるるよりも勝るなり。 Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
9 もし汝の眼なんぢを躓かせば、拔きて棄てよ。片眼にて生命に入るは、兩眼ありて火のゲヘナに投げ入れらるるよりも勝るなり。 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
10 汝ら愼みて此の小き者の一人をも侮るな。我なんぢらに告ぐ、彼らの御使たちは天にありて、天にいます我が父の御顏を常に見るなり。 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.
11 [なし] For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
12 汝 等いかに思ふか、百匹の羊を有てる人あらんに、若しその一匹まよはば、九 十 九 匹を山に遺しおき、往きて迷へるものを尋ねぬか。 How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
13 もし之を見出さば、まことに汝らに告ぐ、迷はぬ九 十 九 匹に勝りて此の一匹を喜ばん。 And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray.
14 かくのごとく此の小き者の一人の亡ぶるは、天にいます汝らの父の御意にあらず。 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.
15 もし汝の兄弟 罪を犯さば、往きてただ彼とのみ相 對して諫めよ。もし聽かば其の兄弟を得たるなり。 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 もし聽かずば、一人・二人を伴ひ往け、これ二 三の證人の口に由りて、凡ての事の慥められん爲なり。 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 もし彼 等にも聽かずば、教會に告げよ。もし教會にも聽かずば、之を異邦人または取税人のごとき者とすべし。 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
18 まことに汝らに告ぐ、すべて汝らが地にて縛ぐ所は天にても縛ぎ、地にて解く所は天にても解くなり。 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 また誠に汝らに告ぐ、もし汝 等のうち二人、何にても求むる事につき地にて心を一つにせば、天にいます我が父は之を成し給ふべし。 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20 二三人わが名によりて集る所には、我もその中に在るなり。 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
21 ここにペテロ御許に來りて言ふ『主よ、わが兄弟われに對して罪を犯さば幾たび赦すべきか、七度までか』 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 イエス言ひたまふ『否、われ「七度まで」とは言はず「七度を七 十 倍するまで」と言ふなり。 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
23 この故に、天國はその家來どもと計算をなさんとする王のごとし。 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24 計算を始めしとき、一萬タラントの負債ある家來つれ來られしが、 And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25 償ひ方なかりしかば、其の主人、この者とその妻 子と凡ての所有とを賣りて償ふことを命じたるに、 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26 その家來ひれ伏し拜して言ふ「寛くし給へ、さらば悉とく償はん」 The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27 その家來の主人あはれみて之を解き、その負債を免したり。 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28 然るに其の家來いでて、己より百デナリを負ひたる一人の同僚にあひ、之をとらへ、喉を締めて言ふ「負債を償へ」 But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29 その同僚ひれ伏し、願ひて「寛くし給へ、さらば償はん」と言へど、 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30 肯はずして往き、その負債を償ふまで之を獄に入れたり。 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31 同僚ども有りし事を見て甚く悲しみ、往きて有りし凡ての事をその主人に告ぐ。 So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32 ここに主人かれを呼び出して言ふ「惡しき家來よ、なんぢ願ひしによりて、かの負債をことごとく免せり。 Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33 わが汝を憫みしごとく、汝もまた同僚を憫むべきにあらずや」 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34 斯くその主人、怒りて、負債をことごとく償ふまで彼を獄卒に付せり。 And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35 もし汝 等おのおの心より兄弟を赦さずば、我が天の父も亦なんぢらに斯のごとく爲し給ふべし』 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.
