| 1 | 六日の後、イエス、ペテロ、ヤコブ及びヤコブの兄弟ヨハネを率きつれ、人を避けて高き山に登りたまふ。 | And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, |
| 2 | かくて彼らの前にてその状かはり、其の顏は日のごとく輝き、その衣は光のごとく白くなりぬ。 | And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light. |
| 3 | 視よ、モーセとエリヤとイエスに語りつつ彼らに現る。 | And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. |
| 4 | ペテロ差出でてイエスに言ふ『主よ、我らの此處に居るは善し。御意ならば我ここに三つの廬を造り、一つを汝のため、一つをモーセのため、一つをエリヤの爲にせん』 | Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. |
| 5 | 彼なほ語りをるとき、視よ、光れる雲かれらを覆ふ。また雲より聲あり、曰く『これは我が愛しむ子、わが悦ぶ者なり、汝ら之に聽け』 | While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. |
| 6 | 弟子たち之を聞きて倒れ伏し、懼るること甚だし。 | And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. |
| 7 | イエスその許にきたり之に觸りて『起きよ、懼るな』と言ひ給へば、 | And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. |
| 8 | 彼ら目を擧げしに、イエス一人の他は誰も見えざりき。 | And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. |
| 9 | 山を下るとき、イエス彼らに命じて言ひたまふ『人の子の死人の中より甦へるまでは、見たることを誰にも語るな』 | And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead. |
| 10 | 弟子たち問ひて言ふ『さらばエリヤ先づ來るべしと學者らの言ふは何ぞ』 | And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? |
| 11 | 答へて言ひたまふ『實にエリヤ來りて萬の事をあらためん。 | And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. |
| 12 | 我なんぢらに告ぐ、エリヤは既に來れり。されど人々これを知らず、反つて心のままに待へり。かくのごとく人の子もまた人々より苦しめらるべし』 | But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. |
| 13 | ここに弟子たちバプテスマのヨハネを指して言ひ給ひしなるを悟れり。 | Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist. |
| 14 | かれら群衆の許に到りしとき、或 人 御許にきたり跪づきて言ふ、 | And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, |
| 15 | 『主よ、わが子を憫みたまへ。癲癇にて難み、しばしば火の中に、しばしば水の中に倒るるなり。 | Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. |
| 16 | 之を御弟子たちに連れ來りしに、醫すこと能はざりき』 | And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. |
| 17 | イエス答へて言ひ給ふ『ああ信なき曲れる代なるかな、我いつまで汝らと偕にをらん、何時まで汝らを忍ばん。その子を我に連れきたれ』 | Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. |
| 18 | 遂にイエスこれを禁め給へば、惡鬼いでてその子この時より癒えたり。 | And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. |
| 19 | ここに弟子たち竊にイエスに來りて言ふ『われらは何 故に逐ひ出し得ざりしか』 | Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? |
| 20 | 彼らに言ひ給ふ『なんぢら信仰うすき故なり。まことに汝らに告ぐ、もし芥種 一粒ほどの信仰あらば、この山に「此處より彼處に移れ」と言ふとも移らん、かくて汝ら能はぬこと無かるべし』 | And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. |

| 22 | 彼らガリラヤに集ひをる時、イエス言ひたまふ『人の子は人の手に付され、 | And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men: |
| 23 | 人々は之を殺さん、かくて三日めに甦へるべし』弟子たち甚く悲しめり。 | And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry. |
| 24 | 彼らカペナウムに到りしとき、納金を集むる者どもペテロに來りて言ふ『なんぢらの師は納金を納めぬか』 | And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? |
| 25 | ペテロ『納む』と言ひ、やがて家に入りしに、逸速くイエス言ひ給ふ『シモンいかに思ふか、世の王たちは税または貢を誰より取るか、己が子よりか、他の者よりか』 | He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? |
| 26 | ペテロ言ふ『ほかの者より』イエス言ひ給ふ『されば子は自由なり。 | Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. |
| 27 | されど彼らを躓かせぬ爲に、海に往きて釣をたれ、初に上る魚をとれ、其の口をひらかば銀貨 一つを得ん、それを取りて我と汝との爲に納めよ』 | Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. |
